Carol by Patricia Highsmith
This book was originally published in 1952 under the title: The Price of Salt. Despite the author already being a household name, Harpers, her publisher did not want it because of the sapphic content. Instead, Patricia Highsmith went with Coward McCann, a small press under the pseudonym, Clare Morgan. At the time many referred to this book as the first lesbian novel with a happy ending. This might give readers the impression that Carol and Therese have a fairytale ending. Whilst the novel’s conclusion is not a whirlwind kiss and a honeymoon in the sunset, it felt like one.

Don Broco: My first post-lockdown gig
The original date for this gig was the 31st of August, but it got postponed to the 8th of November. Don Broco didn’t have much luck the last time they were due to perform at the O2 in Oxford. The toilets exploded and people were standing in human waste without even realising it. Must have been a bummer for the band. Oh well, shit happens... I liked how they had a sense of humour and thanked the 02 for fixing the toilets. I wasn't there when this infamous incident happened, but if I was there, I would have felt like I was back at work during a D&V outbreak.

Close to 50k reads, but finding hard to feel happy about it
I’ve been writing on Vocal since the summer of 2017. A lot has changed over the years. Some for the better and some for the worse. I’ve started to get to grips with Vocal, but I still struggle sometimes. I am really surprised and excited to see my total reads go up to this amount. I have a feeling it won’t be long till I reach 50,000 reads. Don’t know when and don’t know how, but I know it’s coming. Im not even sure how or what I will do to celebrate this. To be honest, I don’t really feel like celebrating at the moment.

How To Get A Top Story on Vocal
I have written on Vocal since 2017, and since top stories have been introduced, I have had four stories picked as a top story. The $5 bonus may not seem as much to many, but to many this is a big boost to their vocal earnings. If you get many top stories, not only does the bonus boosts add up, it also helps you get more exposure and more followers and be able to connect to others.

Changes to Game of Mass Destruction
My novel and 10th book, Game of Mass Destruction has had a few changes. The storyline and fate of the characters remain the same, but there has been some changes that were necessary. A One star review from a reader that only finished less than three chapters of the book, encouraged me to reach out for a professional editor.

Day out in Stratford-Upon-Avon
My Aunt and I wanted to go out for the day and we both decided we wanted to go to Stratford-Upon-Avon. Banbury has good transport links to many great places like London, Oxford,Birmingham, Warwick, Manchester and Newcastle. Most travelling to some of the major cities only need one bus or train journey and changing trains isn’t needed.

It’s Time to Celebrate: Britney’s Finally Free!. Top Story - November 2021.
This has been the news that Britney’s fans all over the world have been dying to hear for years. I’ve been following the story well before the Free Britney movement caugh the full attention of mainstream media. Ever since Britney was young, she had been made to work hard for other people. Even those who did not like her music, could not deny her talents and how hard he worked to accomplish what she had achieved.

Vocal Creators F.A.Q
As a lot of you might have seen, we have a new community on Vocal for interviews. To celebrate it, I’ve come up with a template that I hope many of you will use. I know a lot of you already through the Facebook groups and I think it will be a nice way to get Vocal people to interact with each other, especially the ones that aren’t in the Facebook groups. The list of questions are inspired by questions I have seen a lot in Facebook groups and also some personal ones in the mix. I remember doing something like this for the Wattpad forums when it was still active and got a variety of responses. All the interviews I conducted have been posted on Vocal.

How Reading Over 100 Books a Year Changed Me . Top Story - November 2021.
Since coming back on Goodreads a few years ago, I’ve probally read more books in a few years than I did in my whole lifetime. I always try to read at least one book a week weather it’s paperback, e-book, audiobook or online. I have over 2000 books on my kindle, yet, according to my kindle app, I have only read 132. This count does not include books I have not finished. Nor does it include the books I have physical copies off.

A Vegan Adventure In Oxford
I had a day off work and I decided to take the train to Oxford. It’s lovely living near such an historic and beautiful city. Oxford is famous for its prosperous universities, gorgeous architecture, wonderful shopping districts and restaurants. It is also a pilgrimage for entertainment. Many famous films had scenes filmed in this wonderful city such as Harry Potter and Saving Private Ryan. It is also once the home many beloved figures like Inspector Morse, T.S Elliot, Emma Watson, Hugh Laurie and many more.

Beat Pokémon Gold & Silver with ANY Pokémon
The first generation of Pokémon games brings nostalgia to all despite the heavy bugs and glitches. Even though it is possible to beat the games with a combination of any Pokémon, there were some solo runs that are not possible to complete. When a Pokémon runs out of power points in all four moves, it will use the move Struggle. I only found this out recently, but your opponents have unlimited power points in Red, Blue and Yellow. This is one of the bugs fixed in the generation two games, Gold, Silver and Crystal. Struggle didn’t hit ghosts in the previous games, but it can now.
