I live in Oxfordshire, England. I used to write a lot of fan fiction and mainly just write poetry now. I've been to over 20 countries and written many books. I'm currently working on a horror story called Heavenly Seas.

Being Kind: Living A Plant-Based Lifestyle
In a previous post, I made a list of all the things I am doing to make my year of 2022 a kind one. Now I went into detail about my unhappiness at work and the pain I had in my knees. In this article, I am going to go in more depth about how living a plant-based diet has inspired me to become a kinder person to the animals, the environment and also to myself.

Dear Pikachu, Whilst many feel that they were born in the wrong time, I feel fortunate to be a 90’s child. Everything seemed new and exciting, but everything also felt more creative. Spice Girls brought the rise of girl power. Some of the best TV shows and music were made in the 90s. Many of the great bands that I listened to either started in the 90s or made their best records in the 90s.

50,000+ Reads on Vocal
I always wondered when it would happen. Then casually going over my stats, I felt my wrists shake in excitement. It finally happened! It's a milestone that I have always wanted to reach because it's hard for many content creators to get views. 50,000 is a significant number for me. It's the word count goal for most Nanowrimo projects and since then, it's become my target word count for most of my novels. I don't always reach this word count with the final product. In fact, I've published more short stories than novellas than longer works but I don't think readers care much about word count. They care more about what words we use and how we use them to express our ideas.

Why I No Longer Pay For Streaming Services
I used to love Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and every place where you stream music. I thought it was a great way to access your favourite artists and also discover new acts. Whilst paying £9.99 a month to stream as much music as you want is cheaper than buying a ton of music albums, there are several reasons why I have chosen to cancel Apple Music and Spotify Premium.

I Didn't Know Who My Main Character Was Until After I Published My Novel
Yuzuko Shikumi has always been a mysterious character to me. Her name written in Japanese is 仕組み 柚子 (ユズコ). 仕組み (Shikumi) translates to structure. 柚子 (Yuzuko) can be seen as a translation of citrus child. I picked the name Yuzuko after reading the Citrus manga about two stepsisters who engage in a romantic relationship. The main character of that show is confidently called Yuzu.

Fun Facts About The Ace Attorney Franchise
Ace Attorney is a video game series set in Japan or California depending on what language you’re playing. The famous original trilogy focuses on Phoenix Wright as he starts his career as a defence attorney. It’s since gone on have three more main games, two spin-offs, and two prequels. The series is inspired by detective shows like Columbo and Sherlock Holmes. The premise in most of the games is where you have to represent a defendant in homicide cases and prove them innocent.

I’ve been reading a lot of books over the past week. Sadly, I tested positive for Covid-19, and have to stay in for ten days. To keep me busy I have been doing a readathon. I’ve been focusing on sapphic romances and books I had on my reading list. I must say out of all the books I have read lately, I would say this one is my favourite. I found myself enjoying sapphic fiction because I feel I can relate to both people in the relationship. Many of the books I read lately shared a theme of romance between two women in a times where it was publically frowned upon. To this day, there’s still a lot places where open sexuality is frowned upon. Sure, it’s a lot more acceptable now, than in the book’s setting, but when there are other countries where being gay is still punishable by death, it makes you wonder how much humanity has really progressed in 70 years.

Like it or not, South Korean entertainment has taken the world by storm. BTS is one of the most popular music groups in the world right now, and it’s something I could easily compare to Beatlemania back in the 1960s. Squid Game became one of the most watched shows on Netflix. Everybody is talking about romantic K-dramas that have similar plots to each other, and yet they all offer aesthetics and gripping soap-opera like storylines that keep people addicted. The reason why South Korean entertainment has gripped so many is because of the gruelling work that goes behind it. If you thought the training in Hollywood was intense, this is something else.

Pages For Her by Sylvia Brownrigg
After reading Carol by Patricia Highsmith, the next book on my priority list was Pages For Her by Sylvia Brownrigg. I came across this book by going through LGBTQ+ recommendation lists on YouTube and Goodreads. Along with Carol and Tell it to the Bees, this book was one that often came up. Work gave us all a £50 love2shop voucher as a thank you for all our hard work during the pandemic. The voucher worked with Waterstones, the only bookstore in Banbury, and I picked it up there. I had heard excellent things about this good, and I was hoping this would be an enjoyable read.
