We talk pucks and objects of that kind. We yell, complain, and analyze in the language of hockey fandom. Gretzky can do no wrong.
Manchester Boy Selected For GB Roller Hockey Team
A seven year old boy from Manchester has become the youngest person to be selected for the GB Roller Hockey team. Like everyone else, Max Phillips of Prestwich in Manchester began to feel extremely bored during lock down when the whole country was advised to stay at home to try and decrease the risk of spreading Covid 19. The virus was spreading all over the world and new variants were popping up all the time from different regions of the country and around the world.

Playing Pond Hockey in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
Since 2007, St. Ignace, Michigan, has hosted a pond hockey tournament on Moran Bay. For those unfamiliar, St. Ignace is the first city you encounter as you cross over the Mackinac Bridge (pictured below) into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. You are in "Yooper" territory now.

We Lived For Friday Night Hockey!
I was telling a story the other day regarding an observation a friend and I made a few decades ago. He and I were coming up the ranks in our weekly Drop-In Hockey and Adult Hockey leagues. We were young, and together we were looking around the locker room and noticed we were the youngest in the locker room. It is incredible how fast the tides have turned. We are now the oldest in the room.

John Jay Field Hockey Falls Short to Lakeland in Section Final Heartbreaker
John Jay completed their season at 11-2-3, and seeded third, a sectional championship was within reach. Of course, the 12 time defending champs of Lakeland would be in the way, and a Halloween matchup proved a scare that the top seed didn’t bargain for. Still, Zoe Eliades' pained response said it all. “So close,” she lamented the 2-1 loss. But the senior left it to her teammate to bring proper perspective.

The Agony and Ecstasy (but mostly Agony) of Being a Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. Top Story - October 2021.
1967. 1967. 1967. 1967. Am I getting annoying yet? Imagine listening to that constantly from followers of rival teams when you’re a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. It was their favourite chirp, and we’ve heard it so often, it doesn’t even bother us. We’ve heard the best and the worst of insults for decades from haters, but the one thing they don’t realize is, nobody hates the Leafs more than their own fans.

A Family That Plays Together Stays Together
Just a year ago, I wasn’t all that into hockey. Both my husband and son played in several leagues, but the sport did not appeal to me. My daughter played volleyball, and that felt more like my speed. But COVID-19 delayed the volleyball championships and cut her club season short, leaving us with little to do outside the house and few live sports to watch. That year, we watched the Stanley Cup playoffs as a family, and thus began my obsession with hockey. (Or, as my husband likes to say, my transition to “bona fide hockey junkie.”)

Learning From The Bench: Year 1 in Coaching
What a crazy year to just jump right into it, right? I’ve been involved in hockey for over 20 years now. I started at 9 years old, which is late by today’s standards, and now at 29 years old, I am fresh off of my first season as a “head” coach. If you ask most coaches, they’d say they learn as much or more than they teach their players. I am no exception.

Miracle of 1980
The final words of the broadcast that was heard worldwide was "do you believe in miracles?" Here in the United States at Lake Placid, New York the men's hockey team would try to overcome the emotional beating took from the Soviets in Madison Square Garden three days before the Lake Placid Games began, the Soviets routed the U.S. team 10-3 in an exhibition game at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Montreal Canadiens
After an incredible second round, the Vegas Golden Knights advance to the final four of the Stanley Cup playoff. Waiting for them are the Montreal Canadiens. And even though everything has been wonky in this covid/first post bubble season, it has been confirmed the "conferences" will compete yet again for the "Prince of Wales and "Clarence S. Campbell" trophies accordingly. Then of course the obvious for the winner, a shot at the Stanley Cup in the Stanley Cup final. I felt that was important to mention since the league about a month ago said that they would not be competing for the conference trophies this year.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Colorado Avalanche
As a Vegas fan let me make one thing very clear, I am very scared of this series. I was actually at the final home game of the season for the Vegas Golden Knights when we lost, and despite only having 15 skaters that night I'm still slightly concerned. Colorado is a very good team and is absolutely on fire.

Hockey deserves way more respect
I was born and raised in Vegas, unfortunately it took until 2017 for us to finally get the Vegas Golden Knights. This was because "Vegas isn't a sports town". Boy I love how painfully wrong all those Vegas haters are. Currently we have NBA, NHL, AHL, WNBA, triple-A baseball, soccer, and the IFL on their way in only 5 short years. Anyways, because of this the most exposure I had when it came to hockey was: The Mighty Duck films, Miracle, and that one time Wayne Gretzky played in Vegas, however that was long before I was born. Also the Wranglers but I never attended a game unfortunately, so I don't count the Wranglers. However I always had a massive respect to hockey players. Also before I forget I've never played myself but I would love to.

Vegas Golden Knights 2020-2021 playoff prediction
After yet another very successful season, The Vegas Golden Knights finished with a record of 40-14-2, earning them second in the west this season. It should have been first, instead of Colorado. We were the only team to get 40 wins this season, I wanted that division banner and the President's trophy. But I digress, it is what it is. The Golden Knights still finished with the highest goal differential of 67, 191 GF and 124 GA. Marc Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner won the William J Jennings trophy.
