Imagine you are Lost
Let’s go for a walk. Put on your shoes and head outside. But now, as you begin to leave your home in the distance, imagine that you are no longer in your familiar neighborhood. You are no longer just a few steps away from your front door. Think about a city or town that you have always wanted to travel to, a place that is unfamiliar to you, where you don’t speak the language and you don’t know anyone. Do you have a place in mind? Now, imagine you are lost on the streets of that city or town. Stop walking and close your eyes for a moment. Imagine the street in front of you. Don’t worry about making it true to real life. However you imagine this place to look is how it will look for this meditation. Get a clear picture in your mind. Are there tall buildings? Maybe there are small houses. Are there plants around you? What about the street below your feet. Is it made of pavement? Cobblestone? Gravel? Now turn your head upwards. Is it daytime or night? Cloudy or sunny? Create a picture of the street you are about to walk down. Focus on it. Now, open your eyes, and continue walking.

Walk Into Mindfulness
Throughout my life, my mother has been one of my greatest sources of inspiration. A practical woman, she more often than not, has a practical answer to most problems. One of her more popular solutions to anything negative that occurs in ones life, is to pull on her favourite pair of water proof, ready for anything, walking shoes and go for a walk.

Just listen.
Meditation is often perceived as sitting cross legged, humming mantras and being an ultra spiritual guru which is not always the case. Embracing these aspects of spirituality is by no means useless, but for day to day relief from the negative aspects of everyday life something simpler may offer a more easily accessible comfort.

Step Forward and Look Within
Mindfulness mediation involves a lot of self-control but at the same time it also offers a form of letting go of control. To practice mindful meditation requires an acknowledgment of your present state and a heavy focus on your breathing. This journey you will be embarking on will allow you to feel present in the moment and bring you to a meditative state. Let us begin.

A Wander Through the Garden
For this walking meditation we're going to connect back with nature. In a spiritual sense, but also in a literal sense. Walk towards a place you know is rich in nature's abundance. This can mean a grassy meadow, around a lake, or just along the pavement with trees above you and your neighbours gardens to brush by.

Mindfulness Today
It is imperative that we promote mental health within the pandemic we are facing as a society today. We find ourselves constantly unsure about our shelter, food, our jobs, and where this is all going. While we do this, we take in events on social media which are constantly happening around the world. Breathe. Turn off your notifications at night and destress. It's been scientifically proven to improve the quality of sleep. Go on youtube, and learn some yoga poses, difficult, but doable. Trust that if you think you can't do it, you can certainly try. Stay present in your immediate surroundings and listen to objects moving like fans, your dog, your breath, the chaos outside if you live in a city.
