The Bar Room
The Bar Room It rained. All day. Now. It sprinkles. I walk with Will my new friend who I met at our Airbnb on NYC’s winking streets. It is April 16th, and we find it is late for NYC? Yes. Gasp! 9pmish and most restaurants and lounges would not take us because of COVID’s early grip on businesses.

The Hearts of Calgary, Alberta
The Hearts of Calgary, Alberta To be honest, I can’t choose just one local restaurant, so I’ll do a couple dedications to a couple of my top favorites that have won my heart. From ones I had just found out about, to ones I have known my entire life, and all the delicious delicacy’s on the way.

Shun Japanese kitchen
There are a few great restaurants in my area, but one to me just stands out. Shun Japanese Kitchen in Houston Texas. I remember the first time I went there. It was because of Facebook ads for their fluffy pancakes. Saw those for about a year before I finally decided to check them out. Turns out they were in a part of town I sometimes visit, just off of highway 59 on shepherd.

The Bistro
The Bistro: So Much More Than Good Food Everyone has memories of their college years that they wish they could preserve forever. How many, though get to re-experience a place where so many of these memories were held and almost are able to taste the nostalgia? I truthfully think not many. I attended my last two years of college where I grew up. Though I started at a school further away, medical issues with my mom and her need for my help called me home. Going to school in a town I grew up in, was an experience I thought would have been anti-climatic. However, experiencing the town as a college student catered an entirely different vibe.

The Best Seafood & Lobster Restaurants Around Bar Harbor, ME
In case you’re not familiar with the term, the turf is steak, and surf is a lobster tail. Typically, the steak is a filet minion or rib-eye. However, you should always ask because some restaurants consider sirloin strips and shrimp surf and turf. Nope, not to me.

Super Burrito, Better America
The United States, sometime probably in the 1980s, had undergone something of a change. Or, rather, an un-change. Drive along any interstate, get off on any exit, and you will find familiar corporate faces greeting your arrival. Some of the places you visit may seem different, but only superficially. Get off an exit in Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Iowa; you will find a Kwik Trip (or a Casey’s General Store). Around the East Coast, you’ll find a Wawa. Then there are your Circle K’s and RaceTrac’s and Sheetz. I’m not well versed on popular Southwest or West Coast gas chains, but the ones mentioned offer the faux-intrepid similar accommodations. But gas stations aren’t the only ubiquities a person might find, and their reach is far beyond Highway Hubs.

Whatever Makes Your Soul Sing, You’ll Find at the Bean!
“Knowing is half the battle.” –G. I. Joe I start by saying, I have an addiction to coffee and I am aware of it. I drink coffee most of the time. I don’t drink much water, and I’m not too big on soda and tea. I do like a cold glass of juice from time to time, but mostly it’s all about coffee.

The Apple Pan -
By Udana Power The Apple Pan is the 71-year-old home of the BEST Burger in Los Angeles. I had my first burger there some time before 1962. I remember that because I was still in high school. My date drove a cool turquoise and white ’57 Chevy. It was “lowered” (close to the ground) and rumbled the school windows when it cruised down Texas Avenue in front of Uni High. One day after school he took me out for a burger.

McMullan's Irish pub
I'll be honest, at first I was going to skip this submission to "local eats" challenge. That was until I got a random text during my work day by a fellow vocal author Megan. She's a good friend of mine whose profile I have just attached as a link.

Hometown BBQ
For anyone who doesn't live in the South, let me explain something to you, BBQ can make or break your town! It sounds dramatic, but it's true. Down here, good homemade barbecue is a staple of Southern pride and culture. Ever since the 19th century when the Spanish Conquistadors brought it over to the US, after first discovering it in the Carribean, it became a hit in the Southern US because of the large number of pigs that were available. From there, it just expanded rapidly. To find out more, please check out this article I found:
