Texas Rangers 2026 Predictions
How will the American League West team fare in the upcoming regular season?

Hello, Spring Training! Do you know what that means? That means that the unofficial start of baseball has finally arrived! The Texas Rangers are poised to make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2023. They haven't won an AL West title since 2016, so the ever-competitive division will get even more challenging. The Rangers will have to compete with the Mariners, who have won the division for the first time since 2001 last season, and the Astros, in order to capture the AL West berth. The most notable names the Rangers have acquired in the offseason were Brandon Nimmo, Danny Jansen, and Mackenzie Gore. Finishing third at the end of the 2025 regular season was disappointing with a record of 81-81, they are determined to see October and avoid a third consecutive season without a playoff appearance. 2026 will mark the Rangers 66th year as a franchise and the 55th season in Arlington.
After three seasons, Bruce Bochy and the Rangers mutually parted ways following the conclusion of the 2025 regular season and Skip Schumaker was named as the new manager. Let's go over some player stats from last season.
Corey Seager had a .271 batting average and hit 21 home runs, while Wyatt Langford had a .241 batting average and hit 22 dingers, which he led the team in that category. As far as the pitching, Jacob deGrom had a record of 12-8 with an ERA of 2.97, while Nathan Eovaldi had a 11-3 record with a 1.73 ERA. Eovaldi was in the AL Cy Young Award conversations, but due to injuries of him, Seager, and Marcus Semien, the Rangers push for a playoff spot quickly diminished. I predict that both deGrom and Eovaldi will be part the AL Cy Young Award conversations, if they stay healthy enough throughout the upcoming season. One of them will have to pull an upset towards Tarik Skubal, who will most likely have a chance of winning a third consecutive Cy Young Award and also be in those conversations.
My 2026 predictions for the Rangers are as follows:
- 85 wins and a playoff berth (Wild Card)
- Nathan Eovaldi: 12 wins
- Jacob deGrom: 10 wins
- Corey Seager: 25 home runs
- Wyatt Langford: 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases
In order for the Rangers to make it to the playoffs, they have to score more runs, and the offense has to take more opportunities with runners in scoring position. Those were two of the major problems the team struggled with in the first half of the 2025 season. Despite their hitting improving once the second half began and in the middle of fighting for a final playoff spot, they lost multiple games and their Postseason hopes quickly faded by the final week of the season. According to FanGraphs, the Rangers have an 18% chance of clinching a Wild Card spot and predicted to finish third in the division again. FanGraphs is still kissing up to the Mariners and Astros. They're definitely anti-Rangers, based on their predictions, dating back to 2023. FanGraphs, my team will make the playoffs in 2026. So, screw you and your BS predictions. Just you wait.
