The Immensely Fantabulous Career of Catherine O'Hara
This really hurts, big time. On January 30, 2026, we all received the news that still hurts us: Catherine O'Hara passed away at the age of 71. An amazing, iconic, and talented actress with a career that spanned five decades, Catherine Anne O'Hara was born on March 4, 1954 (a Pisces, like myself) in Toronto, and it was in that same city that she began her comedy career with The Second City in 1974. Two years later, O'Hara began her eight year run on the sketch comedy series, SCTV, which was the original Canadian clone of Saturday Night Live and pre-dated another Canadian sketch comedy series, Kids in the Hall, by just over a decade and a half.

Reviewing the Ninth Annual Women's Royal Rumble
Before I went to bed last night, I decided to go to Netflix and relive the 2018 Women's Royal Rumble Match, the very first Women's Rumble. Amazing. A Women's Royal Rumble Match seemed like just a pipe dream. Now, not only did it come true in 2018, but we are now in Year Nine of the Women's Rumble. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the 39th annual Royal Rumble event took place, and for the first time since the very first one in 1988, they left the country, as the Saudi capital of Riyadh hosted the event.

Power Rangers Review: "The Power Transfer"
The second season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers definitely featured a lot of huge moments, almost too many to count. The season started with Lord Zedd becoming the new Big Bad, and later on, Tommy Oliver's Green Ranger days were officially numbered. We wouldn't be sans Tommy for long, as he returned as the White Ranger and the new leader of the Power Rangers.

A Look Back: Rey Mysterio's Road to WrestleMania 22
Without question, the Royal Rumble is my all-time favorite event. You would think I'd say WrestleMania, but the Rumble is where it's at. The Royal Rumble Match has all of the chaos of the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs, and it's all rolled up into an hour-long match. Since 2018, we now have two Royal Rumble Matches: a Men's match and a Women's match. Hard to believe that we are at Year Nine of the Women's Royal Rumble, when once upon a time, something like that was just a pipe dream.

A Deep Dive Into Nattie Neidhart's Evil Motivations
It's amazing that this upcoming April will mark 18 years since Natalya Neidhart debuted on WWE's main roster, doing so on SmackDown. Wrestling is literally in her blood, coming from the prestigious and hallowed Hart family, and overall, Nattie's been displaying her immense talents for over a quarter-century. Her SmackDown debut was a villainous one, and to this day, I still say that her name being stylized to "Natalya" was done to make her more evil and sinister (it's an amazing touch).

Conference Championship Recap: Winter Comes for Thee
I absolutely love Conference Championship Sunday; as I have said before, the final round before the championship round is always spectacular. The NBA and the NHL have the Conference Finals, MLB has the League Championship Series, and when it comes to the NFL, it's the Conference Championship, with both games taking place on the last Sunday in January. The stakes are simple: the winner of each Conference Championship will be in the big one, Super Bowl LX.

"Beyond the Gates" Weeks 45 & 46 Recap
I did mention this in the last recap, but it is hard to believe that Beyond the Gates is closing in on celebrating one year on CBS. It seemed like yesterday that the very first episode aired. It seemed like yesterday that I actually watched a full episode of a soap for the first time in my entire life. But in actuality, it was just over 11 months ago. Very amazing. Beyond the Gates continues to excel, to excite, and to impress in just under a year's time.

Power Rangers Review: "White Light"
It's been a few minutes since I last wrote a Power Rangers review, but I know where I left off. For those of you who remember, I don't do every episode, just the stand out moments, and the franchise has had quite a few. The last review I wrote covered the permanent end of the Green Ranger, and as I said before, I took this much better than I did regarding the candle in Season One, because this time, there was no way out, no Plan B. Tommy received mentions following the end of the "Green No More" arc, with a big one coming in the following episode, "Missing Green," which centered on Jason's guilt and self-blame regarding Tommy losing his powers.

Homestand Part VII: Boy, Our Power Play Sucks!
After two and a half weeks and some wild moments, the Colorado Avalanche's seven-game homestand came to an end on Friday night. Here's how the homestand went as of this point. First off, a blow out win over the Ottawa Senators that saw the Avs score six times in the second period. This was followed by a shutout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The third game of the homestand was an overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs that snapped the Avs' 17-game home winning streak, but the fourth game saw us lose in regulation on our own ice for the first time this season; a 7-3 loss to the Nashville Predators.

Homestand Part VI: Hitting a Wall
The Colorado Avalanche got back on the winning track with the big win over the Washington Capitals on MLK Day, with that win coming after our first home regulation loss to the Nashville Predators. Regarding this, our sixth game of our seven-game homestand, the team formerly known as Les Nordiques welcomed Les Canards, the Ducks, to Ball Arena. This was the second meeting between the Avs and Ducks, and the last meeting was also in Denver, we still have a trip to SoCal coming in this set.

Homestand Part V: Yet Another Mack-tacular Milestone
The Colorado Avalanche were coming off actually losing back-to-back games at home, which included losing in regulation on home ice for the first time all season. A 2-1-1 stretch in this homestand; the Avs welcomed the Washington Capitals in the fifth game in this set, a Capitals team who is looking for something following their second round exit last season.
