The Buffalo Bills Season Is Finally upon Us and It Feels Different
The 2018-2019 season in the NFL was not an exciting one for your average Buffalo Bills fan. For your rabid fan, it was probably a bit stressful. But regardless of your perspective, the Buffalo Bills introduced Josh Allen to Western New York and may have finally found their future. Some parts of Western New York were overjoyed at the prospect of finally finding Jim Kelly’s heir as apparent and franchise quarterback, while others were just looking at and feeling the pain of past history.

HBCU Football Spectacles 2019: The Magic City Classic
August is always a really great time to be a football fan. Training camps and the anticipation of the upcoming season alone are enough to really get the juices flowing, whether you're a fan of pro football, big-time college football, or otherwise. HBCU football games, in particular, could be considered home to some of the most unique and enjoyable fan experiences imaginable for the sport. Black College Football holds a special place in my heart in terms of an overall game day experience. I'm an alum of the Alabama State University "Mighty Marching Hornets" band program, so I've been blessed to view the HBCU game day experience as both a game day participant, and as an old-fashioned fan. There may not be a spectacle more representative of the unique nature of the Black College Football fan experience than one of the oldest HBCU Football Classics in existence, The Magic City Classic.With the organized version of the event starting in 1945, it's considered one of the oldest and most venerable of the HBCU Football Classics in existence today. The Bayou Classic (Southern vs. Grambling State), The Florida Classic (Florida A&M vs. Bethune-Cookman University), and the Southern Heritage Classic have all had a TON of visibility over the years, but the MCC has a fan and overall game day experience that rivals some of the best in the nation. The typical MCC festivities start almost a week in advance of game day with a myriad of parties, social events, and student recruitment efforts. Performances by major R&B recording artists, Stepshows and related events, and a "Battle of the Bands" face off between the MMW (Marching Maroon & White) of AAMU and the MMH (Mighty Marching Hornets) of ASU really make the entire week an exhilarating experience for any fan. Sensory overload is a REAL thing for this event prior to any turf in venerable Legion Stadium being disrupted by cleats and pigskin.Then, there's Magic City Classic game day...

This past bowl season we watched the Oklahoma Sooners lose to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship Semi-final game. OBJ: The Cleveland Problem
There a lot of big trades and game-changing acquisitions that can alter a season, and some that just fly by with two-second recognition, like pigeons. OBJ is both of these. He is a big presence on Instagram, when he's having a tantrum on the sidelines, or making some insane catch. Don't get me wrong, I like Odell as much as the next person. His presence is unavoidable, and his effect on the game is unmatched, but he, and AB (Antonio Brown for you casual watchers) have become the cornerstone for the Diva Wide Receiver in the League, and it's shown to not win Championships.

As the 2019 offseason begins around the National Football League, teams are preparing for the long and exciting season that is ahead of them. For many NFL organizations, like the Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants, the offseason has brought a tremendous amount of attention to the operations of their franchises. The scrambling of NFL front offices has had positive and negative effects on some teams and their locker rooms. After the firing of the New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan, head coach Adam Gase has had to answer the remaining questions from media outlets about the current condition of the Jets organization. The move to fire Maccagnan came after the signing of the former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. Confused as to why the Jets front office decided to make personnel changes so late in the offseason, many fans are wondering if the New York Jets have enough potential to be an AFC wild card contender.
