How I Became A Better Me
Every morning I wake up and I stretch my body and it feels amazing. I walk over to the my mirror and I hug myself. I embrace myself, I see all my imperfections and call them beautiful. I talk to myself in the mirror and tell myself that today is going to be a good day because why not? I started doing all this 4 months ago and it has changed me from within. It changed that negative view point I had towards myself and my day. I use to be so self conscious about my body because I was bullied in school and those words stuck with me all these years. I recently learned to let go of those thoughts. Fall of 2020, I started learning self-love and self-care. I never want to treat myself in a toxic way ever again. I had to really think “is that way of thinking healthy?”, I had to think; “how do I treat my friends? Do I talk to them in a toxic way?” Of course not! So why am I doing this to myself? It’s so easy to fall into a habit of mistreating ourselves and beat ourselves up but that isn’t the way of a positive life. I started buying books on self-love and self-care and it really has organized my mind.

I’ve always thought it’s kind of strange how we spend our entire adolescence wanting to grow up, to be an adult. Once the time comes you expect to feel amazing, you now have all the freedom you’ve ever wanted - but that never happens. In reality, it’s the opposite, we spend our adult years longing for our youth. A time where we had fewer responsibilities and stresses.

The Eye of the Beholder
Oh my, oh my! Tonight I sit here contemplating the power of words. I don't know about the rest of you, but I grew up with that little childhood claim that "sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt me." I am here to proclaim that the claim is WRONG! It is so wrong that it should be classified as an outright lie! Words can often leave bruises that take decades to heal; some so hurtful I think the essence of the initial punch often leaves a single bruise that can be felt to the present day.

Well, well, well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own decisions.
I am not a fan of making decisions. I sometimes wish life was a rollercoaster that you never get to leave. No stop signs that make you look left or right, no traffic lights to give way , no cross walks that give you pause. Sometime I just want to be head-in, guns-blazing, take-no-man-alive.
