MY GIFT TO YOU COMES WITH LOVE
Since I was a little girl I always loved Christmas I could not wait to see what I would get from Santa Clause! One year when I was a teenager (I am a little older now) I wanted a record player. I must have told my mother a million times that I wanted one for Christmas. I do not know where she bought the stereo and 45rpm records to go with it. She hid the present she was giving me until Christmas came. When Christmas came I got up and ran to the living room. What I saw was a stereo with a big bow and records. I screamed and knew my parents were the best parents ever! All Christmas day and the days after I would put on some records and dance to the music. Yes, I loved that stereo! I used that stereo until it broke.

Going Green for Christmas
A 2020 Christmas. This has been a challenging and difficult year for many of us. Nevertheless, the pandemic has afforded us an opportunity to focus on what is truly important. If this year has taught us anything, how we treat our planet can make a drastic impact on its health and the health of everyone around us. Aiming for a green Christmas is a good goal to make after reflection on 2020.

"Can you make one for me?"
One of the biggest challenges I’ve encountered in my approximate 18 years of crocheting is really 2 issues intertwined. 1) There is an assumption that because you are able to make one type of object (a scarf, for example) means that you are also knowledgeable in making ALL other types of items (such as a stuffed animal). This also applies cross-craft; if you know knitting, the assumption to the untrained eye is that you can also make that cute crochet item they saw.

How does one get into fiber arts?
In the winter of 2002, I was in college in Wisconsin, spending some time with my boyfriend. As it is quite cold in the winter in the Midwest, we were all bundled up coming back from something, probably mundane, like lunch at the cafeteria. I asked him where he got his scarf. I don't know why. I wasn't really the kind of person who was into fashion or maybe I needed a scarf of my own, I really don't remember. It wasn't even that remarkable. Plain black. I can probably say that his answer changed me life.

The Perfect 2020 Ornament
This year was full of surprises, thanks to Covid 19. From travel bans and sanitized hands to school closures and wearing masks, the one thing that shocked me the most was the stores running out of toilet paper. I guess it goes to show that in the midst of a pandemic, people still prioritize a bathroom wipe. It didn't matter if it was quilted, cotton, soft and strong, or plain old 2-ply; eventually, like most people, I wound up just rolling with whatever I could find.

Christmas Crafts
It’s that time of year again (or maybe you are like me and keep your Christmas tree up year-round) and nothing says family, like making personalized ornaments. This ornament is fairly simple to make, but is a slight messy if you are crafting with kids because well, glitter. But in all honesty, who cares about a slight mess as long as the kids are having fun?

Asylum Psycho
Where to even begin... Over the years I’ve definitely evolved creatively and I must say watching other creators has helped my mind with this domino effect of ideas that tumble into some of my best work. Although social media platforms could be used in a very negative way, I truly believe I have mastered ignoring most of which does not make me a better individual (mind, body and soul).
