Captain America (Pt. 2)
The political and social landscape influenced this character as much as this character influenced society. He was continuously adapted to fit into the events that were happening at different time periods in America. The political and social event that was occurring during his time of creation and publication was World War II. The Second World War was a global war that lasted from 1939-1945; the two sides of this conflict were the Allies and the Axis. Captain America was on the side of the Allies where he fought against Hitler and the Nazis; in the comics, he fought specifically against a fictional Nazi science division titled "Hydra."

'Fear the Beast' Could Have Been 'The Incredible Hulk' of 'X-Men' Films
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, composer/editor John Ottman revealed that, toward the end of X-Men: Apocalypse's production, his assistant Byron Burton tried pitching the idea of a spin-off focused on Hank McCoy. Titled X-Men: Fear the Beast, the script was written by Burton in a span of two weeks, and was then tweaked by Ottman. Since the script featured such characters as Beast, Professor X, and Wolverine, the spin-off had to be given the go-ahead by Simon Kinberg as he was working on Dark Phoenix. That film would feature Beast and Professor X, and Kinberg was tinkering with the idea of bringing Wolverine back. Not wanting to be influenced in regards to handling Wolverine, he declined to read the script. With Dark Phoenix marking the end of the latest onscreen iteration of the X-Men, the writers are sharing their 100-page script online for people to see. It can be read here:

Captain America
The history of Captain America begins in the United States, particularly in New York City. According to an article by Peter Sanderson, Andy Mangels, and David Roach, Captain America was “created by writer Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby for Timely Comics” (Mangels, et. al. 1). To explain, Simon and Kirby created Captain America, specifically the Steve Rogers version, as a comic book superhero in a company that would years later become Marvel Comics. The character debuted in Captain America Comics #1 in March of 1941 and was the star of his own comic book series.

Comic book fans alike love to discuss their favorite superhero and which comics are best, DC or Marvel. Everyone has a strong opinion on superheroes, and most go back to the age-old debate over Superman versus Batman, and does Spider-man have a chance in that battle? This debate recently took place in Seattle. A group of court reporters went to see the most recent superhero movie, which sparked this debate again. Of course, each hero has their own traits that helped them to stand out above the rest, but when they opened the discussion to involve a wider range of superheroes they began to re-evaluate who the best hero actually is and if there is even a right answer to the superhero debate.
