6 of the Best Shaggy Dog Stories
A shaggy dog story is a kind of joke, but one that's on the listener. They're meandering stories with purposefully anti-climatic endings. The name comes from a story about a man with a dog, and everyone comments on how shaggy this dog is. One day he enters the dog in a "shaggiest dog competition." He does a lot of training for the competition. On the big day, a judge takes one look at his dog and says "That dog isn't that shaggy."

The Contract
Abellium was a quaint town regularly voted “Most Lovely Town to Settle Down” by the Ninaviet Gazette and “Worst Place to Acquire Gold and Glory” by Mercenary’s Quarterly. It sat on a scenic cliffside overlooking the Sea of Okhotsk, its crystal-clear blue waves lapping at the rocks hundreds of feet below. The sun was always shining even when it was raining. For reasons unknown to the villagers, even an otherwise overcast sky always left room for the blazing sun. Of course, none of them had ever posed the question to one another, knowing that it was best not to look a benevolent god horse in the astral mouth.

What would Spike have made of this 'gooning' around?
If he’d lived a couple of decades longer Spike Milligan would have turned 102 today, but as he didn’t he’s probably turning in his grave instead… aghast at the lunacy that has come to pass during the past 12 months.

Should we allow people to be sued over a joke?
Can a joke ever go so far that it leads to a 10-year court battle? Apparently, it can. Back in 2010, Canadian comedian Mike Ward performed a 90-minute stand-up act that included a bit about Canadian celebrities who he believed were "sacred cows" that were considered too rich and powerful to be made fun of. In that bit he roasted Celine Dion, her husband Rene Angelil, and a young singer named Jeremy Gabriel.

It's not actually that sunny in Philadelphia. Top Story - February 2021.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Like the name of a wholesome family entertainment show. Perhaps a light-hearted comedy where a group of old friends who own a bar get into a few scrapes but it all turns out all right in the end. Well, the irony begins with the title. It’s Always Sunny is one of the craziest, darkest sitcoms ever to hit our screens.
