astronomy
Celestial objects and the phenomena that surrounds them. What lies above the earth forever out of reach. From moons, to stars, galaxies, and beyond.
Holding On
There is approximately 7.8 billion people on our planet as of the end of 2020 and still counting. Even with our unique traits and personalities do we share common ground between a multitude of things: music, toppings, literature- everything with multiple categories and genres that are classified separately and yet, unite us together. Just like the myriad of stars in the sky, we paint ourselves in at least twelve categories of the universe examined ever since Babylonian astronomy. The path of the stars somehow interpret our futures, and yet, if only we believe.

A Sagittarius, I Guess
I had to look up the spelling of Sagittarius. Was it two Gs and one T or two Ts and one G? I have never had to type out my astrology sign before. The information is something that I know despite never truly seeking it out. Zodiac symbols and the arcane knowledge of astrology have seeped into our culture like some sort of pervasive fog. I know what my astrology sign is but I don't have a clue as to what it means.

Enter Cancer
I was in middle school when I first read about the crab. Another love-struck preteen, unsure of who they are, let alone what they wanted. Logically, I had turned to my ancient desktop. On a mission for answers, my stubby fingers plugged away at the keys. My ‘soul searching’ lead me straight to the world of horoscopes and the mystifying thing called astrology. My heart raced at the prospect of answers. I hovered my cursor over the search result reading Horoscope.com. What did I have to lose?

Identifying with Scorpion
The Beginning Born 24th October, apparently while Babybird’s You’re Gorgeous played on the radio, the stars welcomed me into the world with a scorpion. The Scorpius constellation hung in the sky, chasing the hunter Orion. Growing up with the name of an evil witch and under the sky of a murdering insect, sometimes makes you wonder. It’s only recently that I learned that the Scorpion was actually the good guy in the Orion mythology, and really did the world a service killing that awful man. Don’t believe me? Look it up. Orion was a truly horrible human being and Gaia/Mother Earth sent the Scorpion to kill the Hunter to protect the world.

Star Gazing Within
As a Sagittarian, I'm meant to be 'the seeker of truth', and to a degree that's a fairly accurate account. As a Saggie, I'm obliged to explore and learn about different cultures, throw myself with gusto into new languages and bring to the cosmos an unending love of all creatures great and small. Animals seem to follow me home and as a child it drove my parents batty, until I started studying veterinary nursing. A job well suited to a Sagittarian, I believe. In fact, quite often, my connection with animals made more sense to me than most of the humans in my world at that time.

A Balancing Act
The grumbling began as soon as Mrs. Morris announced that a ten page research paper would be due in three weeks. When she began explaining the assignment, however, the low rumble which had begun in the back, with the usual underperformers, began to spread rapidly toward the front seats until even the writing nerds, who loved assignments of this scope, were murmuring.

It's Written In The Stars
As a child, I spent many a night laying on my back looking up into the dark night sky, mesmerized by the vastness and wonder of it all. It was inexplicable to me how millions and millions of tiny little dots, scattered throughout the universe, could be connected to one another in such a unique way, creating a cosmic mural for the entire world to enjoy.

Gemini - The Two of Us
I'm never lonely. There is always a second person inside my head, waiting to debate with me. It's me, but another me - the quintessential Gemini, or more correctly the “twinessential” me. A mirror image of an opinion, equal, opposite and maddeningly accurate. My head is regularly split in two.
