Bacon Muffins
So, continuing with our previous article, here we have another amazing recipe from Meta Givens from the 40’s. I thought Bacon Muffins just sound like an amazing idea. This is another one I would love to try! I am not the biggest baker, but this is something I would certainly get those muffin pans out to make!

Creamy Yogurt Jello: An Ideal Dessert For Those Looking To Lose Weight
About a year and some change ago I started getting serious about my weight. I wasn't in my 20s anymore, and I had to acknowledge that I couldn't just spend more time at the gym if I really wanted to slim down and lose my burgeoning stomach. While I managed to get my meals figured out using portion control (more on that struggle in How I Lost 40 Pounds by Eating More Taco Bell), one area that always dogged me was dessert. I have a large sweet tooth, and I am one of those people who firmly believes a serving size of ice cream is whenever you hear your spoon hitting the bottom of the carton.

Poor Man's Beef Stroganoff
Cooking is something that I love doing. My kitchen is where I am happiest, and I am always wanting to entertain my friends so I can cook them some yummy food. One think that I have been stuggling with is using up everything in my fridge, freezer and pantry. Therefore I buy and buy and buy and items just get push further and furhter to the back of the shelf. The COVID-19 pandemic of the year 2020 has shown that we can not let that happen as store shevles were cleared out in early March, and now we see limits on items or price increases on just about everything.

Spanish Pork Chops
Over the years I've collected so many good reads and one of these little nuggets of knowledge I’ve found is an extremely unique cook book written by Meta Givens in the 1940's. There were so many creative, interesting, and sometimes, slightly strange recipes in this book. I felt that it would be a great project for myself, publicizing these long-lost recipes and making some of them my own.

Vanilla and Cantaloupe Smoothie Recipe
I have been on the SlimFast diet since June 1 2020. I have been struggling with weight loss since I am likely to relapse after being deprived of sugar or carbs for a day or two. With that being said, I have started to work on losing weight and have been studying nutrition since July 1 2019. It has been a nightmare trying to find the right diet so I don't relapse and go back to my old ways. Since I have been on the SlimFast diet, I have been making some real progress with my weight and overall wellbeing. Throughout the SlimFast journey, I have been experimenting with SlimFast smoothie recipes to give myself a variety to enjoy for breakfast and lunch!
