The Bobcats definitely represented the difficulty and had the Wolves losing every match. But the girls still showed they could play and gave Byram Hills a run for their money across the board.

So down one with 28 minutes remaining, Tiana Righetti stood one on one in front of the goal, and another loss seemed imminent. “AII I remember was it hitting off my foot,” said the senior, and the save meant more than a 1-0 loss.

John Jay Scores 100th Victory for Coach Debbi Walsh
See tip, pledge and subscribe buttons After losing a tough 1-0 game to Lakeland on Saturday October 6, John Jay was back on Contest Field on Monday, and the Wolves took no time to sulk, according to Coach Debbi Walsh. “It was nice to watch the girls continue to play at an elevated level against Hen Hud,” she said after the 7-0 victory. But there was more at stake for the girls than just bouncing back.

Of course, the Wolves still had to play the game, and while the first place match up versus Somers didn’t go five sets, the titanic struggle seemed like it did.

The venue switching on Wednesday September 11, it was more of the same and Coach Shannon Scavelli was happy with the way her Tuskers showed out. “Our girls played hard the whole time. They had great possession of the ball and were connecting well,” she said. The actual outcome wasn’t so bad either.

Please see tip, pledge and subscribe buttons below Hall of Fame Photos John Jay Volleyball Sweeps Pelham On Friday September 20, John Jay hosted Pelham before the John Jay Hall of Inductee Ceremony, and at least two Wolves made a case for future enshrinement. “They are the definition of what hard work looks like,” said Coach Tom Rizzotti of Ilirijana Ahmetaj and Jaime Bartley-Cohen. So many spikes and dinks raining down, the three set victory wasn’t all the coach took home from the way the two big hitters effect the team and his mindset.

John Jay Takes Easy Way in 5-0 Victory over North Salem

The girls started with the ball, and North Salem was left chasing all game long when Abby Mattiello proved faster on her feet than the Tiger goalie.

Somers Rides Van Tassel Hat Trick to 6-1 Victory
Please see tip, pledge and subscribe buttons below. On Tuesday September 17, Somers hosted Nanuet at the high school and surrendered a 1-0 lead at 32:10 of the first half. No surprise, the cheers obviously went up on the Golden Night bench. But the elation sounded more like the visitors knew they were living on borrowed time, and in the end, the Tuskers proved them correct.
