Taming The Wild West

An Unnecessary Line

I discovered my voice a little later in life

freely spewing curse words down the hall

I caught my reflection in the window that night

and saw a madman ensuing a brawl

A lifetime of feelings exploded over the floor

leaving their marks displayed on the wall

I'd never experienced such a rush before

like a dog ravaging a ragdoll

What was it about these feelings I've got

the expressions I'll never forget

I guess I always loved her, although we had never met

Living large in shallow puddles of debt

With my voice now, completely intact

and a little pride resting here in my chest

I'm pretty proud of where I am at

taming my life like the wild, wild west
