Regrets And Lost Love

A Unnecessary Line

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about 12 hours ago 1 min read

the smell of cigarettes lingered

mingling in the strands of her hair

she had his heart wrapped round' her finger

though he could see, she didn't care

emotionally unavailable

avoiding the conversation that waited

his need for her was insatiable

her name on his breath, sat baited

the need to be sedated

held her against her will

unpredictably hated

with only time left to kill

been in love in stages, her whole life

once he's fixed, she's gonna miss me

he cries.....

wanting the me that she can never see

moss grows on the northside of the rock

unreliable narrator

casting the shadows that haunt

the mistaken lover

she didn't know that she'd want
