cat
It's been said that people that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.
Mittens
Wow! Where to even begin? The first time I saw this little furball. I thought, wow, my daughter would love to have this kitten. But at that time, she belonged to a friend of mine. It was the dead middle of winter when I had first seen this kitten. When I say dead middle of winter, I mean the temperature was in the negatives that winter.

Mama cat chose to adopt me
I guess I would have been called the cat lady back in the day because I once owned 14 of them at one time. They were not in my house but lived outside. Over a period of time I would say I probably owned at least 24 cats. My story today took place when I was 14 years old so I have no original pictures. The cover photo, however, is an almost exact replica of my "Mama cat," If you have read any of my recent pet stories then part of this tale will be familiar.

Love at First Meow
Cats are the perfect pet. They are soft and cuddly, friendly for the most part and have been comfort during emotional times. My sisters and I grew up with cats from a young age, and my parents even now, still have 2 cats that we have had since birth.

Servant of Cats 3
Charles, and the seagull. Hull, where the people who adopted Charles lived, has a population of feral Seagulls, these large birds have seldom seen the sea, most live near refuse tips, or near the docks. Once in a while, one makes its way inland to see what it can scrounge in the city.

Cleo and Cricket
I was living in a place I didn’t want to be, but at the time I didn’t have a choice. I was 16, and deeply depressed. My at home life, well let’s just say it wasn’t good because that is a WHOLE other story. The short version is my mother, brother and I moved into her fiancée’s house with his mother in a very tiny house and they had a very feral cat living there called Wilhelmina. She hated everything, wouldn’t let us near her and pretty much wanted to stay in the wall, so well left her alone.

Queen of Cats
I just want to start by saying I love all animals no matter how big or small, how bald or fuzzy, dog, cat, rabbit, bird, fish, etc. All are open to the warm embrace of the Queen of Cats. Where I live, I am known as the crazy cat lady at the end of the trailer park. More than a dozen of them come to my porch for shelter, food, and attention. I readily provide that and then some. I give out more than 50 lbs of kitty kibble a month, several dozen gallons of water, and thousands of kisses and head pats, all in a safe, judgment-free zone. Life is good.

My Lucy
"Oh, please, come here sweet kitty!" I called to the tiny Calico stray in the big bush next to our desert apartment in Barstow, California. She was absolutely beautiful and so feisty! I reached into the plastic baggie of cut up steak I'd snuck off of my dinner plate and tried to lure her out. My face was getting scratched with the branches from the bush. My arms were bleeding, I didn't care. I would save this little baby.
