The Seasons of Oneself
There were only two important things in my life last summer. It almost seems silly now that I was so concerned with something that others thought so small, so tiny. But it was so much bigger than that. My whole entire life was in my writing, in the journal that I brought with me everywhere I went. The tiny, little black notebook that held my deepest thoughts.

Huntress
Frozen branches creaked all around me. I sat stock still in my blind out in the windy woods. My eyes only saw in black and white, and were playing tricks on me as the morning started to add light to the sky. Every movement I saw made me feel like I was hallucinating.

WHO THE HELL LET US GROW UP?
I'm twenty-five years old. I should have my life together...or so I thought. When we were adolescents, if people mentioned adulthood, we automatically assumed the mid-20s equaled life together and easy. Oh, how we were wrong...well for some of us. Some of us were lucky enough to find our place in life and be successful while the rest of us are still trying to decide what we want to be when we grow up.

Sometimes its cloudy in the Morning
SOMETIME'S IT'S CLOUDY IN THE MORNING BY: KID KID KID Joy comes in the morning, but lately it’s been cloudy. But I wouldn’t want to live in a world without it. Even if I don’t see the sun I know it’s morning so I start going.” You know they need you,” I say to myself, I know I need help and that’s all I know.

A Contest
“Did you see it?” “See what?” “The flyer on the board.” Maria flicked her head towards the board, it was break and she was more than comfortable. Stretched out collapsed in the blue plastic chair the school was so generous to make sure they had enough. She had her favorite Coffee mug in hand as if it were mittens warming her soul.

It's Why We Need To Be Driven
It's one thing to be motivated by our goals, but it's an entirely different level of determination when we are driven by them. At the start of journeying towards our goals, many people believe that motivation is the trait that will help us to succeed. After all, if we have both enthusiasm and reason, it should be enough to get us off the couch, and inspire us to take action, right? Absolutely! I cannot deny that motivation is an imperative characteristic that we need to possess if we are striving to achieve our goals, because we need to continually be positive, energized, and proactive, along the journey, but the problem with motivation is that it is a characteristic that can easily be influenced. Motivation is a wavering characteristic, which can come and go, dependant on the circumstances, situations, events, and emotions, that we are experiencing at each moment of time. One moment we may feel on top of the world, inspired and hungry for success, but then we may encounter a setback, or a failure, or maybe several setbacks and failures, which then start to install doubt and fear within our mind. We start questioning if all our time, energy, money, and hard work, are all worth it and equating to what we are working towards. That fear and doubt then starts to play with our motivational levels. Perhaps something unexpected happens in our life, such as the death of a loved one, a marital split, or similar painful experiences. Our mind becomes overwhelmed with what's going on in that aspect of life, which affects our mood and emotions, leaving us to feel negative and upset, to the point we lose our motivation and focus on achieving our goals. When motivation falters, it can easily become a time where we throw the towel in and give up, hence why we can't rely on motivation to achieve success.

"Back Against The Little Black Book"
“Back Against the Little Black Book” Quick stop photography by V.Sumter I Know you heard the stories of the Las Vegas Well here's mine. Close your eyes and vision the heat the sound of the transit coming down the street. Imagine a homeless man walking down the street, same clothes with holes looking through the trash for something to eat. In his route to the Quick Stop the man grows tired from the humidity and sits down from exhaustion. The man troubled from life on the streets just wanted a better life but had a very bad addiction that turned his life upside down. Wiping sweat from his head he raises his head seeing a very nice vehicle pull up to the Quick Stop. A well dress man gets out of the car he seemed to be in a rush. When he walks to the store entrance the man on the curb asked the well-dressed man for some spare change he reaches in pocket and gives man a dollar. Thanking the man for his kindness as he returned to his spot on the curb. Upon parting ways, he seen the man moving really fast in a rush. A phone rings while he pumps gas, He answered the phone, "Hello Chip Sports where we give the best Lines at the best times. Now we know his name, Chip pulls a little black book out of his inside sleeve, opens a pen with his teeth and jots down notes for the big game tonight. "Money Line got you covered" he replied to voice on the other line of his cell phone. Chip hangs up seeming to put the book inside his jacket it falls to the ground, he gets in his car speeds off. The homeless man spotted the book as it fell to ground and went to retrieve it but too late to catch the man. He then opened it and also making sure no one saw him pick it up. The man begins walking into the dark looking through the book noticing money inside also all inside bets. He starts to get nervous seeking a motel for the night he goes to check in for the night till he figures things out. Sensing the trouble, he wonders what dangers came with the book but first sleep. His Appearance very tired in need of a shower from living on the street. He noticed clothes and items left in the motel room probably from the last guest. Starting the shower, he cleans razors and shaved to the point he couldn't be recognized. Looking further into the book he finds tips from a big game and decided to try his luck hoping to use it once and return it.

We're going to Win This and here's why
We are going to win this and here’s exactly why: We are winners, just accept it now. We were born a winner. As babies, we never took one look at ourselves and thought, “Damn I’m a loser.” Nope, we just laughed and played and screamed so loud because we knew someone would be there when we called. We accepted our greatness so profoundly that we trust everything we need would be done as we ask. The mark of true winners.

The Little Black Book
The Little Black Book It was a late summer evening out a couple of weeks before fall. The sun had begun to set over the city. The sky was a bright magenta hue that spread across Albuquerque. The civic plaza downtown was a buzz with life. People had gathered around to listen to a local mariachi band playing traditional Mexican music which they danced to. They mingled about the dozen or so food trucks teasing their taste buds with great food that they chased down with whatever drink they could find. A young woman on her way to work mulled about the plaza in a daze to the music, dancing, and all-around cheerfulness under the magnificent sunset. For the moment, her mind was on her problems. "How am I going to pay for my last year of college," she thought to herself? She went by the name of Italia Germain. She was early to work so she decided to hangout in the nearby alley. Italia stumbled over something while walking down the alley. As she caught herself, she spotted a dingy backpack.

How Time Logging Can Transform Your Productivity
I know a thing or two about time management. At Sophie Davis, the BS/MD program I attend, students are regularly instructed on the importance of managing their time. Sharpening this skill has been excellent for my performance, but I value awareness of time as a way to maximize experiencing the things that bring us meaning and happiness on our journeys. I have developed many strategies while acquiring a bachelor's degree in 3 years, but the most important tool I've used for myself is time logging.
