In the Beginning
I first began writing little bloggy stuff on Facebook, back in 2012, after retiring from my Customer Service job at Publix Supermarket on Fort Myers Beach, Florida. I wrote mostly of what I write about today, me and my childhood. Memories of people that romp around in my mind, even after all these years. In 2014, I made a peregrination, that ended in my home town as a committee member of my 50th class reunion.

No Sleep For The Wicked
Introduction The prevalence of insomnia in the general population ranges between 8-40%, depending on the definition used. While 20-30% of the general population has poor sleep (i.e., insomnia symptoms of difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, early morning awakening, or non-restorative sleep at any given time), another 8-10% of the population suffers from chronic insomnia. Also, about 4% of the population use sleeping pills in a regular basis. However, the connection of insomnia with significant medical morbidity has not been examined until very recently. This has led to view insomnia and its associated mental and physical health complaints as a minor problem from a public health perspective.

Get the COVID vaccine ... there is the question
The phone rings and I see my mother's face turn her smile into deep sadness. Her voice breaks and she only manages to outline an "I'm so sorry, I'll be praying for him, for his soul and for our entire family." Another relative who has passed away, victim of COVID 19. One more relative that we will never see, touch, hug…. Another family member who could not get the coronavirus vaccine and who could not protect himself against this unfortunate virus that has already claimed so many lives.

Hostage
Around 5 years old, I watched my mother cut and make my teddy bears picnic costume. 8 kids in a box trailer, waving to the crowd, we were all gold with white inserts for ears and belly. At 9 she made my tap costume, vibrant pink with a silver love heart in the middle of a twirling dress. I watched her make our heavy blue curtains on a old electric domestic singer. At 11 she made my primary school prom dress. From golden ears, pink with hearts, to flowers right to the floor dress with blue curtains as a back drop for photo's. Then mum got a part time job.

Contentment
Can we ever have it all? NO. Can we be satisfied with what we have? Yes. It is a truth that human wants are insatiable, but then there must be a balance. We all must know when to make do and be happy with what we have at the moment. In the world we live in today, our society is filled with numerous people who lack contentment.
