Hospice, What Is It?
So, losing a loved one sucks. A lot. I lost my father a little over a year ago, and my great grandmother the year before that, and her sister in between the two. The one thing they all had in common which I think it made it even more immensely difficult for me is that they were all in hospice. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, hospice is essentially end of life care for those with terminal illnesses. Some people can be in hospice for months, but most of the time, it's a week or less.

4 Ways on How to Relax. Top Story - November 2017.
Most of us are out working our 9-5 and not giving any thought on what we are doing to our bodies when we are working ourselves a lot, especially when we're always on the go and never really sitting down. Sometimes we don't even know it but our bodies are literally screaming for us to stop being on the go and just sit down for half a second and just not move. So always being on the go once it comes to my job I have found ways to not only relax and give my body a rest, but also give my mind a bit of a rest. I am going to share these tips with you so that hopefully both your body and mind can take it easy for a while.

Speak the Truth
We all are guilty of it. We tell blind lies to spare the present vibe, but that tiny spark, no matter how innocent, will only grow into a giant bolt of lightning. Any empathetic person like myself will always want to comfort others; we hate to see anyone in pain, but life is full of pain. It is not possible to shelter anyone from all the harsh negatives. We need to learn to grasp this pain and use it to our advantage, moving forward with more strength. Let go of the emotional reaction and skip straight to the empowerment.

Reflections on Running and Writing
Over the last year, I’ve dedicated a large amount of my free time to writing and running. My jobs always required extensive writing, but now I write for myself, finding my creative voice instead of a professional one. Running, on the other hand, is a new passion, chosen because it fit my criteria for an exercise regimen (full body workout, convenient, relatively cheap). As I cultivated both activities, I began to see parallels in my fears, ability, and routine. If you’re a beginner to creative writing or running, I’d like to reflect on these mental hurdles and hopefully inspire you to stick with it!

The List
As I grow nearer to my mid 30's I look back at my 20's and think of just how far I have come. I have overcome a lot in my 32 years on this planet. I have grown, I have failed, I have persisted. I have gone through things that the majority of people don't go through their whole lives. Pain and loss are the hardest things, but the come with a clarity unlike any other. A first-hand knowledge that turns into wisdom. The older me does not even recognize the person I once was in my younger years. There are a few lessons I have learned, and these are 20 things I wish I would have learned earlier in life. But in the end, the journey matters.

Imitating the Sea of Sound
Ever since I was a kid myself, I have loved to imitate. I consistently got good laughs from imitating sounds, imitating singers, imitating friends. I loved the challenge of exactly matching a sound, whether it was a bird, vacuum cleaner, or person. I worked diligently to match sounds, which I came to see involved a good deal of listening, of patience, and concentration. Imitating is an all-around, comprehensive metaphysical exercise in the use of sound. It is also a blast to do with children.

Believe In Yourself
You wake up in the morning and think about what you look like. You walk to the mirror and stare at yourself. You scrutinise every feature that you can see. You look at your bright eyes surrounded by eyelashes of different lengths. You look at your brows whether they’re thick or thin. You look at yourself and what do you think? Think beauty. Think special. Think beautiful. Think handsome. Think intelligent. Think positive thoughts. You wake up in the morning and believe that you are who you are. Nobody can force you to change yourself. You don’t need to change for anyone because guess what? You are perfect. We’ve been taught for a long time that no one is perfect but if you think you’re perfect, who even has the right to tell you otherwise? No one.

Dear Younger Self: Patience Is A Virtue
Starting from childhood, it seems like we've always been in a hurry. Whether we just couldn't wait for an event happening at school, a sporting event, or simply just couldn't wait to grow up, we have always been too excited to wait for something. Throughout the years, impatience and excitement (for me) has almost always been met with the one word... "patience."
