Obesity
The percentage of obesity in youth has been increasing on a daily basis. Obesity is a health disorder which is caused by uncontrolled buildup of fat in the body. It can lead to severe health complications and low quality of life. It is known to be the main cause of chronic diseases such as heart attacks and strokes. Even though it can be hard to pin point only one reason for a person to be obese, there are several reasons that can lead to obesity.

Living With Retinitis Pigmentosa
Being a young person with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) or any type of visual impairment can be very rough. Many things that others can do become chores for an individual with vision loss. As stated by my current RP and low vision specialists, Retinitis Pigmentosa can be described as a degenerative genetic condition in the eye in which eventually causes blindness. With any vision problem, more problems get created. People who have a severe case lose their individuality and that creates depression.

Autism and Special Interests
Due to a vast increase in diagnoses of autism (in addition to greater public awareness), children and adults with the condition are widely known to have what has been appropriately termed as “Special Interest”. Special interests are topics of which we have a kind of obsession about, and there may indeed be more than one of them. In my own case it’s the Harry Potter series, as well as an intense interest in my work as a writer and speaker.

Diabetes Is Not One Size Fits All
“I’ve eaten so much sugar, I’m probably going to become diabetic.” I’ve heard this phrase a lot in my life. At work, school, amongst family and friends and it didn’t use to bother me until recently. November is diabetes awareness month and I wanted to educate a little bit about the differences. I have been diabetic since I was 13 years old. When I was diagnosed, I didn’t realize that it would mean an entire lifetime of finger pricks, insulin injections, doctor visits, and constantly looking at food labels to determine the correct dosage of insulin to inject. I am a type one diabetic which is very different than a type two.

My Battle With Obesity
Hello my name is Jesus and I am 26 years old. For as long as I can remember I have always been "BIG". My weight has fluctuated but I've never been skinny. My heaviest weight was 600+ (I am also not quite sure the exact number ... once I saw the scale went past 600 I jumped off and refused to go back on). After battling for about 2 years with my obesity (and my mind) I am now down at 504. Every day is a struggle but one I try to convince myself that I must win in order to stay alive for my family. I am currently meeting with a trainer and have begun a IG and twitter @Deletingobesity , to try and inspire others to lose weight and ultimately delete their obesity. Although the struggle is hard and tedious I am embracing every step of the way because I know that someone out there is watching me and is in need of the support and Inspiration I've gotten from my trainer. One of my biggest inspiration is my new born daughter EllaGrace. Every time I look into those big beautiful brown eyes I find purpose… I find a reason why! She needs her daddy, and to be quite frank, I need her. What I have noticed has worked for me so far on my journey is working out early in the morning. What I began to do was wake up as early as I could get up and take myself to the gym. Even if I only worked out for 10 minutes on the stair master it was a win for me to get out of bed at 4:30 AM and head to the gym. I knew I did not have to wake up until 8 to get to work on time. I remember many days I would wake up and cry because I’d rather sleep than go to the gym and sweat and go through the joint pains in my knee.. BUT I still pushed myself through the tears while driving to the gym to finally get inside and begin my workout. I began to notice that making my body push through a weight training circuit and being sore all day made me think before picking up food that I should not. Another thing that helped me (as obvious as this is) was meal prepping! I noticed that when I meal prepped I snacked less on things that I shouldn’t have. I began with just meal prepping breakfast, then slowly began meal prepping both my breakfast and lunch, until I finally began doing all my meals and snacks. It was definitely a tedious task to do because I would get hungry while cooking the food but I would force myself not to eat the food and drink TONS of water. That leaks into my last point …. WATER!!!!! Water consumption will help with your cravings and those false hunger pains we all deal with. Now my goal every day was to drink at least a gallon of water. Some days I did not get there and some days I did. Through that process I began to notice bodily functions began to become normal again. My joints did not hurt as much, I was not as hungry after my meals and my skin began to clear up. I say all this in hopes that I can help someone out there who is on their journey to deleting obesity as well. I hope this helps someone out there who is also looking to delete their obesity! TOGETHER we can defeat obesity!

Black and White
Michael is bald and I don’t like it. Heads should not shine under the light. It makes me uncomfortable, so Michael wears a hat. It is a nice hat, with a bobble on top. He also wears glasses but I don’t like those because they are not round and they are not square, they are oval and I don’t like that shape because it is like someone has taken a circle and stamped on it.

Speak the Truth
We all are guilty of it. We tell blind lies to spare the present vibe, but that tiny spark, no matter how innocent, will only grow into a giant bolt of lightning. Any empathetic person like myself will always want to comfort others; we hate to see anyone in pain, but life is full of pain. It is not possible to shelter anyone from all the harsh negatives. We need to learn to grasp this pain and use it to our advantage, moving forward with more strength. Let go of the emotional reaction and skip straight to the empowerment.

Cryohelmet Review: A 3 Year Perspective
***Disclaimer: I was originally gifted this product in 2014 for testing purposes. All opinions are my own*** Over the past 30 years, I’ve sampled a wide variety of products geared towards people living with migraine. Finding relief, even if it’s only temporary, can make a world of difference for a person facing intolerable amounts of pain. Whether it was based on the company's claims or testimonies of reliable sources, I’m always up for testing a new item without harmful side effects.
