An Interview With Andrew Jara, Director of “The Last Ones” on Amazon Prime Video
In El Paso, Texas, resides director, writer, producer, editor and podcast host Andrew Jara of Jara Films, most known for his feature films “The Last Ones” (2012) and “Borderland” (2016), available on Amazon Prime Video. Currently, his 2020 cosmic horror film titled “The Empty Space” is in the works with distributors, making its way through festivals and most recently brought home the award for Best Feature Film at the 14th annual Sacramento Horror Film Festival. Filmed entirely on Zoom due to pandemic-related restrictions and the recommendation to social distance, Jara completed a two-cast member short horror film in August called “Wellness Check”, starring Katherine Smith-Rodden and Adam Bussell, which is scheduled to become watchable for the public on Wednesday, March 17 on YouTube.

Season Two of “Reely Scared” Podcast Offers Discussion on Horror, Genre Films | Interview. Top Story - November 2021.
Over two years ago, the Cleveland-based podcast network, Who Are They? Reel Entertainment, was founded by Matt Thomas and Nick Muhlbach with the initial goal of spotlighting their fellow local filmmakers. Since then, it has expanded into five different shows consisting of various content, from move trivia to pro-wrestling, and has added several other on-air personalities. One of the many shows with the WAT network is Reely Scared, a podcast hosted by Taylor Cleek and Conner Breedlove, that ensues discussion on horror news, the reviewing of films, guest interviews and live watch-alongs of movies.

An Interview With Travis Laidlaw, Director of “Dead House”
In the world of independent film, most indie storytellers are found wearing multiple hats on a single project; the need to keep overhead low while working with a small budget often calls for a filmmaker to be credited as a majority of their crew. For some, this is troubling and they’d prefer to pass the torch to focus their efforts elsewhere, and for others, like Toronto-based director Travis Laidlaw, being the moving part through the pipeline of a short film production is a rewarding experience.

An Interview With Jason Zink, Director of “Straight Edge Kegger”
When he’s not working his 9-5 as a job developer, Jason Zink is running a punk rock film house with some three productions under its belt. Zink, owner of Weird On Top Pictures, was formerly employed as an English teacher, though, currently assists others in the construction of their resumes, conducts mock interviews, and is the writer and director of the coming soon to Shudder thriller/horror film “Straight Edge Kegger”. The film has received much acclaim from its many appearances at festivals and overall has performed well, garnering 13 wins including the Jury Prize for Best Feature at the Halloween International Film Festival and Best Actor from the Houston Horror Film Fest in 2020. Keeping overhead low and working alongside a small-scale crew, Zink completed the film that once released its own collectible toys and currently has a VHS Mystery Box on sale from Rotten Rentals.
