Covid Chaos Chronicles, Story 1
The alarm startles me. It’s 6 a.m., the usual time, but this morning I am extra tired. What day is it? Tuesday, Wednesday? They all have bled together. Why do I still dream about being back in high school? I can’t find my locker as usual. Ah, it’s Wednesday, I’m working from home today. The 40-minute drive can now be replaced with three or four snooze button presses. Thank you snooze button! It hasn’t always been like this, my job didn’t allow for any ability to work from home. But times are different now and here I am, all I have to do is walk across the hallway into the “office.” Actually, a bedroom with a desk in it. At least I have a window in this office. Now what do I do?

Happily Never After
As a little girl Mya always dreamed of her happily ever after to be just like Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. Disney movies were Mya’s saving grace as a child! Even though they weren’t real, they were real enough for her at eight years old. Mya never really had much to smile about. It was always home, church, school, and repeat.

Chosen
There once was a time when magic was well known. A place where everyone got along and embraced the differences of others. The king of the land was of the human race for the last fifty years. He was kind to all his subjects and treated everyone fairly. Except for two people, his daughters. He treated them as if they were the gods above. So if it was known that someone had hurt them, the king would put them on trial.

Fantasising About Our Life Together
We’ve all done it before, whether it’s the handsome guy on the train, or the checkout girl who gave us an extra second of eye contact and wished us a good day. From strangers who we meet once or encounter daily, to people who we’re actively trying to get to know. We are creatures who daydream, creatures who fantasise about the impossible, but also possible possibilities.

Contrary to Popular Belief
I think we have all been in this situation before. A friend comes to you with a problem asking for help. You listen to their side of the story and hear all the nitty gritty details. You sit back, reflect on it with your own life experiences and then give them your advice. What you would do in that situation and what would most likely be the best course of action for them. You explain it soundly, logically and with plenty of evidence and self-experience to back it up. However, you see the words zoom right over your friend’s head. You sit back and watch them go do the exact opposite of what you had just suggested, reminding yourself again and again that they had come to YOU for advice. A little time passes and after the inevitable train wreck has occurred; said friend comes back crying and upset talking about their woes again. All you can do is sit there and say either out loud or to yourself (depending on the type of friend you are):

The World I Was Safe In
Suddenly, I woke up and found myself in between a woman's legs but not like I was having sex but it was more like I was resting my head in her lap at first and I took a nap unintentionally. The first thing I noticed was that the woman is barefoot and her toenails were painted red, her legs were beautiful as well. Her legs weren't super toned or anything, they were fit and I could tell just by laying there that her legs were a little hard so I always moved up to her thighs for a more comfortable feel. She was wearing denim high waisted short shorts as well because, for some reason, I always know how denim feels.

How Close Mindedness is Separating the Generations
Struggling to except change is something that many people in older generations experience, and the change that they struggle to accept most is that the younger generations have opinions, voices, and we will not be silenced. The phrase “ kids today have no respect“ is a phrase that is being tossed around with the idea of respect being to stay silent and obey every single thing and elder tells you to do. I do not agree with the people of the younger generation that choose to curse and call someone out of their name, but I also believe that it would not get to this point if the person of the older generation knew how to assert their dominance without arguing and going toe to toe with someone of the younger generation. I recently got into a debate with someone on Instagram, and I simply wanted to state my point of the older generations not being accepting of our opinions and that the older generations were basically taught to stay quiet and follow orders. Now, I am not trying to make it seem as if the older generations were taught to basically be slaves, although that is what it sounds like, but what I am trying to say is that the younger generations deserve respect. I do not believe that you are eligible for respect once you hit a certain age, or a certain status, or a certain stage in your life. I feel as if the older generations are close minded when it comes to anyone younger than them having an opinion, and this is what I feel is separating us from one another.

It's All in Your Head
A few days later, Gia and Sophia were sitting at their usual spot in the mall’s food court. There was something about going to the mall that these two girls loved. It always seemed abandoned because the younger generation—their generation—was shopping for everything from home. The internet had taken over the shopping industry from clothes to groceries, so there was a certain peacefulness in the mall. The mall cop sauntered by, not noticing the girls.
