Voyage of the Maiden
I was walking around the playa when I came across an art installation. Imagine eight 2x4’s planted vertically in the ground in an octagonal pattern, ten or twelve feet across. Like if you laid a huge stop sign on the ground and the posts extended upward from each corner creating a cylinder kind of framework.

Unfairly Greedy
In 2005, Leonardo Da Vinci's famous Salvator Mundi painting was sold for $1175. In 2017, the same painting was sold for $450 million to Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, making it the highest-priced art ever. But it turned out to be fake. The prince pressured the Louvre museum to lie about the authenticity and exhibit it alongside Mona Lisa to spare the public humiliation of having spent $450 million on a fake painting.

Before everything fades away
I was on lookout at the corner of the alley while Mary began spray painting the wall. It was just after midnight, and the hot June day had melted into a beautiful evening. I glanced over as she unleashed a long flowing spray of orange that twisted into itself. She repeated it a few more times, and her movement cast wild shadows beneath dim lights along the back of the shop wall. We probably wouldn’t get caught but adrenaline still surged through me. I felt alert.

Warring Halves
Part I: A troubling conflict It was always a conflict. One that I think will last until I die. It’s funny how one can want to create so badly and be terrified of it at the same time, so full of dread even. It took me years, more than a decade, to overcome such simple and innocent ideas as writing a short story or composing a song.
