9 Things to Do Instead of Cheating
Cheating sucks. To be the cheater sucks pretty badly, I’m sure. As Steve said in the Sex and the City movie, “it’s been killing me.” Yeah Steve, I’m sure it has. You probably feel guilty. You’re feeling regret. You maybe even hate yourself a bit. But remember Miranda’s response? “It’s killing you??” Sorry, Steve. You’re not feeling what she’s feeling. You’re not feeling betrayed. You’re not feeling humiliated. You’re not feeling like someone just cut you open and ripped out every happy feeling you’ve ever felt and left you feeling cold and dark and empty.

Letting Go
As always, here I am sitting in bed watching my little blinking cursor taunt me, knowing I have so much to write about, but cannot find the right words to express how I truly feel. There are so many different topics I want to write about, but for now I really want to focus on something that I recently learned about myself…and maybe it may help you too.

Signs You're Being Abused by Your Partner
One of my more recent exes was abusive to me; I just didn't know it when we were dating. With his unique form of narcissism, he actually had me convinced that it was my insecurity, and my weakness that made me undesirable. When he left me, I was in shambles—and then he dated the girl who'd later become my best friend.

Things Unsaid
When I look back through the many phases of my adolescence I am most reminded of one girl; Kat Robin. Every few days Kat would cycle to another friend and demand their attention and affection. Lord have mercy on the person who didn’t show reciprocity. Per usual, she got her way at the cost of those around her whether she chose to acknowledge that or not. I wonder if Kat even knows the emotional damage she caused me the day she told me, “He could never like someone like you”. Some words will stick with you for life, even when you’d do anything to forget them. Yet, for every shadow cast, there is a source of light that begs to destroy darkness; “If you never try, you’ll never know”.

Warning Signs
I want to preface this by saying that I am writing in the first person to more accurately tell my story. This is also the first time I am telling my story from start to finish. I would not normally tell such a personal story on the internet, but I think it is an important lesson that everybody, young and old, should know. I have learned from my mistakes, and I am happy to have made it through this ordeal, but it very well could have crippled me. This happened during my junior to senior year of high school. I am writing this a year later, now in college. While I have moved on, and my life is exponentially better now with a wonderful, almost saintly new boyfriend, this is a story that will haunt me forever. I know a lot of people have or had it worse than me, but I would rather others not make the same mistakes that I have.

Loving Someone in Prison
Many of us are here looking for support in others going through the same thing if not something similar. We all start with asking the same questions, how are we going to make it without him/her gone. We come to realize that it doesn't matter how long they are gone even if its months, years or even life – we have to all deal with the separation anxiety and that they were ripped out of our everyday life and being placed in a strange and scary place.

A Different Kind of Love
Before my happily ever after life that I am now living with my hubby of a decade/partner in crime of 17 years, I did an experiment. After being cheated on by a certain someone, I decided to flip the coin. I decided to treat guys like they treat chicks. I decided that I could pick and choose as many as I wanted and never commit. And I did. It was incredibly refreshing at first. It was a magic I didn't know I owned, and on top of that, I don't know how many of you reading this believe in the power of astrology, but I do and my Piscean powers were top notch for this (people under the Pisces sign tend to foresee things)! I would meet a guy and know exactly what would happen and how and how good or bad it would be. I still own this power of premonition. I use it seeking employment or even simply taking on new friendships and I am usually right about these things. Anyway, back to the point... I did this for a short period of time, but it was fun while it lasted. It was fun until it got creepy. It was fun until my inner feminist slapped my face and brought me back to the surface pointing out how horrible the aftermath felt. That is when I decided to date myself.

Why People Cancel On You Last Minute
It’s been planned for days. It’s finally Friday afternoon. You’ve just finished work and you are super excited to get ready and go. What am I going to wear, what time should I leave, maybe I should wear that red top instead? And there comes that notification.
