Avatar: The Way Of Water--A Swing And A Miss
There are a lot of reasons you might be tempted to not see this movie. You may have already heard some of the loathsome things James Cameron said about the Lakota. You may have heard it's just another chapter in the Avatar franchise's "white savior" narrative. You may have heard that a white man is exploiting the stereotypes of Indigenous peoples, hired an almost all white cast, and only white people are going to profit from it.

Dreaming of a Dark Christmas
Merry Dark Christmas! ‘Tis the season for machine guns, twisted murders, and the Grin- (the Mean One). While most of the world at this time of the year sits to enjoy family, eggnog, and heart warming films such as A Christmas Story, It’s a Wonderful Life, and more, there is always a small minority of people who look to alternative films to kick off the holiday season. Fortunately, I am one of those people who are always dreaming of a dark Christmas.

Imagining the Curtailed Future of Minx Through Viva. Created with: OG Collection.
One of the latest casualties of an overhaul of HBO Max done by Warner Bros. Discovery was Minx, a comedy centered on a semi-fictional erotic magazine for women published in 1970s Los Angeles. Despite a strong critical response to the first season, which premiered on March 17, 2022 and holds a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, new leadership at the streamer pulled the series even after a previous renewal and days ahead of production wrapping on the second season. Co-executive producer and star Jake Johnson has since said that filming will wrap and that the Minx team is hoping for a new home for the show.

I Never Thought I’d Be An Artistic Person
Growing up as a sheltered, fearful, religiously-influenced child, I had no idea what my future was going to be like. I’ve felt fairly lost in life compared to many others around me. I was not a confident kid, young adult, or even a middle-aged man until recently.

A Robot's Lost City
I have always been incredibly fascinated with the fact that Studio Ghibli films have a specific sense of nostalgia. I want to believe this is a sentiment for everyone who enjoys Ghibli films because, for me, they represent both a gleeful childhood and a vessel that allows us to find magical and meaningful moments as we grow older.

Double Date with The Muppets
Kermit the Frog detested Tiktok because people do silly things like cooking chicken in cough syrup. The current trend was double dates with strangers. The Jim Henson Company had picked up on this. He hoped by now that he would be swimming in the Bahamas. However, his agent had other plans. He was sworn in to do a skint of videos. If it wasn’t for his dearly beloved Miss Piggy, he would have retired from the show business years ago.
