DreamWorks Animations Sold For $3.8 Billion
Roll on the animations. Comcast has officially bought DreamWorks Animations in $3.8 billion deal. The company's NBCUniversal division is acquiring the studio for the extortionate amount. Today Comcast had said that shareholders within DreamWorks will receive a $41 in cash per share of stock.

Paywalls will kill your favorite streaming service. Everyone thinks that the streaming services are killing cable and that’s the whole story. They’re wrong. Streaming services are also killing themselves. Sure, Netflix has been doing well from a content standpoint, they are putting out great stuff and they’re putting out a lot of it, but they are in debt and eventually just like in every other tech industry, someone else will come along and take them out. We still win; all of those Marvel shows, all of those comedy specials, House of Cards, Stranger Things, and everything else is already made it’ll still exist and somehow someway it’ll be available.

Weekend Box Office
War for the Planet of the Apes takes the number one spot at the box office this weekend with a domestic gross of $56 million dollars and a worldwide gross of $102 million dollars, making it the most successful Apes movie overseas. Spider-Man: Homecoming drops down to number two with a weekend gross of $45 million dollars with the movie's daily box office falling since its July 7th release and an overall 61% drop since July 7th. Despicable Me 3 is still holding strong at number three with a weekend gross of $18 million dollars. Baby Driver is still holding its own at the box office at a strong number four with an $8 million dollar weekend gross with only a 32% drop since its June 28 release which is really good for an Edgar Wright film. The Judd Apatow produced comedy, The Big Sick, moves up three spots to number five with a weekend gross of $7 million dollars, becoming the highest grossing Sundance movie this year and the second highest grossing Amazon Studios release so far.

Is Too Much Information Ruining Sci-fi & Superhero Movies?
The "Nerd/Geek" community (my community) is one of the more committed fan bases out there when it comes to their content. It doesn't matter whether it is a rumor of a new TV show coming out or if Superman is going to have a mullet on the new Justice League movie, the community needs to know. This could be either be considered simple curiosity or excitement over something that fans hold dear to their hearts. The problem rises when this mere curiosity or excitement changes into fanatic search and obsessive nitpicking over every single detail of possible information. This brings up the question. Is there such a thing as too much information? Yes, there is. The trailers, the rumors, the pics and of course the never-ending leaks. Too much information (in my personal opinion) can somehow dilute what the movie experiences should be.
