Bullet Train - A Movie Review. Top Story - August 2022.
From the way I look at this situation, maybe it’s good luck that we missed the train. Riding into theaters in 2022, Bullet Train centers around five assassins onboard a fast-moving bullet train. They soon learn that their missions have something in common.

Dank Memes I Liked This Week
Memes are a love language. I stand by this, and I will never not stand by this. I use memes to start conversations I have no idea how to start, and to show my friends I still care about them. That being said, here’s a collection of memes I found funny this week, and some commentary to pad the word count. This is me, sharing memes with you, the reader, to show that I still care about you. Even you, Kevin. Especially you, Kevin.

On Comedy
Introduction I can’t write comedy. My friend Bill O’Neill is starting a Comedy Section in the Vocal Social Society but I probably won’t be able to contribute any fiction for two reasons. I find fiction difficult to write and if I do write comedy people will not laugh because it may be too convoluted.

Jackass Forever: A Spoiler Free Review. Top Story - April 2022.
To preface this review, I must state that Jackass has a special place in my heart. Many late nights were spent watching the Jackass crew perform their stunts and antics while I was growing up. It was one of myself, and my friend groups go to series for sleep overs or just to put something on. It was a series that I enjoyed and grew up with.

The Top 10 British Sitcoms
I love British comedy. I like how it is very self-deprecating, love the farcical nature of it as a metaphor for the hardships of life and even love the subtler aspects of British humour like wordplay. I’ve counted down my favourite examples of the best way of representing this type of humour: the sitcom. Obviously, there may be some glaring omissions (I’ve never seen the original Office) but this is based on what I’ve seen.

Nothing Said Censorship in America More Than the Cancellation of 'Soap'
In my opinion, the 1970s were the Golden Age of situation comedies. Barney Miller, All in the Family, WKRP, MASH and the Odd Couple were all unforgettable and still hold up today. But my favorite may have been Soap. Time Magazine called the series one of the 100 best shows of all time. At the same time, the Museum of Broadcast Communications said it was arguably one of the most creative efforts that network television ever put together. As for me, I hung on the show’s story arc like a bloated tic to its host. Even so, Soap only lasted four seasons and fell prey to a much higher authority.

Bad Jokes - A reluctant defence of Jimmy Carr
TW: racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia, sexual assault, a picture of Bernard Manning “My mom, for most of her life, was a Holocaust denier. And it was terrible for the entire family to have to deal with until, finally, a couple years ago, we had an intervention. And we had a rabbi come into the home, had him walk her through the history of the Jewish people, and then he made her watch “Schindler’s List.” And after that, my mom did a complete 180. Now she can’t believe it only happened once.”
