The Magic of 'The Black Panther'
You don't have to be an athlete to enjoy a movie about sports but when you are, you feel a special connection to the storyline. You don't have to be a scientist to enjoy a film rooted in science, innovation, and exploration but when you are, you can relate. You don't have to be African or African-American to thoroughly enjoy Black Panther but when you are, the movie speaks to you at a louder volume.

Marvel's Cinematic Universe: Worst to Best
I haven't seen Black Panther yet, it's not on the list; why don't you let me know where you'd rank it? Tweet me. Marvel's Cinematic Universe is the only cinematic universe currently functioning and is generally considered to deliver pretty consistently solid films. Let's just see how I feel about that.

Movie Review: 'Black Panther'. Top Story - February 2018.
I don’t want to confine Black Panther to the fact of its nearly all-Black cast. However, as I sat to enjoy the latest addition to Marvel’s cinematic universe, the genuine importance of Black Panther’s identity washed over me and I felt a surge of excitement. Yes, there have been Black superheroes before; Blade especially stands out. But this is an entire universe of dark-skinned people portrayed with complexity and humor.

Does 'Black Panther' Deliver on Its Promise? (Minor Spoilers)
Movie hype is nothing new, indeed it is now an integral part of the movie making process. The "machine" can make a movie sound like the greatest of all time, look like it is MUST-SEE, and generate millions in pre-sales.

Microcosm: The 'Black Panther' Movie and the Importance of Representation
Microcosm: Situation regarded as encapsulating in miniature the characteristics of something much larger. You could ask anyone I know. I am not personally a fan of action or sci-fi blockbusters. I either fall asleep or spend the time estimating the cost of each explosion or fake spaceship.

Two-Fisted Tales: The Untold Origin of the Comic Book Superhero Iron Fist
In 1973, in a head-spinning eight month span that ran from March of that year to October, six Hong Kong martial arts films captured the #1 spot at the US box office. The collective spectacle sparked a martial arts mania that spread from downtown movie screens to comic book racks at the neighborhood drug store.

Why Disney’s Acquisition of 20th Century Fox Is Great News for Marvel Fans
In December last year, Disney confirmed that they would be acquiring the majority of 20th Century Fox's assets in a deal worth $52 billion. This is good news for Marvel fans because Marvel films are distributed by Disney and 'X-Men' films are distributed by 20th Century Fox. For the first time, the Marvel comics film rights will all be under the same roof. This means that we might get X-Men and Marvel superhero crossovers. They will all share the same universe. Previously, these crossovers only happened in the comic books because Disney didn't have the rights to the 'X-Men' characters.

'Logan' Proves That Superhero Movies Have Yet to Solve Their Villain Problem
*Spoilers Ahead* Let's get one thing out of the way up front; I loved Logan. Easily the best superhero movie of the last few years, as it used its R-rating smartly to deliver what I consider to be the quintessential superhero experience. Its ability to tackle a familiar character in a new way without the restrictions of a PG-13 rating ensured that audiences would receive a genuine and authentic Wolverine-focused movie that wouldn't shy away from the hero's darker side. While 2015's Deadpool showed that adult audiences were ready to support an R-rated superhero film, its use of humor and being an easily accessible protagonist made it an easy sell to the masses. Logan doesn’t have that working in its favor, as Wolverine's character has a slightly more complicated history, as well as being a drama, which can be a hard sell for those on the fence about superhero movies. Fortunately, Logan proved that you could tell meaningful stories within the medium of superhero movies, and while I applaud it for this accomplishment, Logan shows that the medium still has to improve on core aspects of itself.

‘Thor:’ The Most Confused Trilogy of All Time
The 'Thor' trilogy has certainly been the most confused trilogy of all time. Why? Simple, a trilogy must have a common theme between the movies and a consistency to tell a common and greater story. Such as the 'Lord of The Rings' trilogy or 'The Dark Knight' trilogy. But 'Thor,' is very much confused with itself.
