I'm a Sagittarius
I love astrology; in fact, I recommend it to people who I know are open-minded. That's the key, open-mindedness. My mother followed astrology; in fact, I can remember her clipping the horoscope for Taurus out of our daily newspaper and almost placing the fate of her day into this tiny article. My mom, like many other African American women of the time (early 1980's), believed horoscopes held power and insight. This was my indoctrination, so to speak, my entry into horoscopes and the whimsical nature of astrology.

Lessons and Lions - A breakdown of my Leo traits
Leos. The prideful, stubborn, "know it all" of the astrological signs. I supposed the same could be said for the Taurus, except his gentle nature is likely more of a catalyst for balanced decision-making skills. Something I have been truly lacking in. At least for the first few decades of my life. Astrology has always been an interest of mine. However, if I said I was a study of the stars I would be lying. Honestly, horoscopes give me a bit of the "heeby jeebies". While I believe in the properties and characteristics I am just not a fan of seeing into my future. My anxiety allows me to haphazardly predict that enough as it is.

When I first started looking into zodiacs and astrology, I was instantly fascinated. I already knew that I was an INFP from a Meyers-Briggs test, however I always felt there was more to it. So when I discovered that I was a Scorpio, it was a pretty great day. It explained so much about myself. Which was always hard for me to do. The piercing gaze, strong personality, ect. Back in the early 1980s, after we relocated to Nigeria from England, my mother joined the nation's biggest daily newspaper, called 'The daily times'. Part of the prerequisites of the job involved bringing the daily papers to the house as well as the household international magazines- Newsweek, Time etc. Reading these journals did in its own way help shape my appetite for knowledge.

The burden of being a Libra
I was born on October 8th in the Chinese year of the dog. Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the zodiac. My symbol is the scales and it is supposed to mean among other things I seek balance and justice. As a libra I am supposed to be sociable, rational and detached when dealing with stressful situations. Rome was supposedly founded when the moon was in libra and the ancient Romans held the sign in high regard. Libra is the only one of the zodiac signs represented by an inanimate object, all the others are animals or mythological symbols. So among all of the signs I should be the most level headed. I should be organized and self indulgent. I can definitely say I am both of those things. Clutter and chaos makes me uncomfortable and not able to think straight. If my surroundings are neat and organized, my mood is definitely enhanced. I will also admit I will indulge myself most anything. I believe we have one life to live and we should have any experience that we dream of. Whether it is seeing a Broadway show or a pair of shoes. I hate when I regret anything.
