astronomy
Celestial objects and the phenomena that surrounds them. What lies above the earth forever out of reach. From moons, to stars, galaxies, and beyond.
Capricious Capricorn
Growing up in the Bible belt, I was generally taught that horoscopes were devilish generalizations that were written by woo-woo "experts" to entice and comfort the average heathen who had no sense of godliness and needed encouragement to face the day.

How to Be a True Piscean
First, you must qualify. You’re born no earlier than February 19 and no later than March 20. In your case, it’s March 4 which in a leap year puts you smack in the middle. You’re in great company with plenty of famous fish who’ve made their mark in the proverbial pond. There’s George Washington and Michelangelo. Sidney Poitier and Elizabeth Taylor. Nat “King” Cole and Jon Bon Jovi. Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs. Fine, Justin Bieber too.

Liberated from Libra
For thirty years now I’ve watched the stars at night. They scare me, but I do it anyway. How dare they be so large and numerous, so overwhelming? They flex on us from the heavens, reminding us each and every night just how insignificant we are.

Sign of the Twins
I am a proud Gemini! I am proud of my Gemini dual personality. I love that I change constantly, I feel I am always growing and always evolving. The twins fit my split personality. One minute I can be happy go lucky singing and dancing around and in a split second I can change into a sullen introspective brat. I know this is who I am and I wouldn't change it for anything. However, on the other hand constant change also results in a brain that never, ever shuts off. Even in my sleep. My mind constantly wanders. I really need to concentrate when I'm in a conversation because if I don't I'll either forget half of what was said or say something stupid because I missed what the other person was saying; because while they were talking I was thinking about work, about the next story I want to write, what I want to eat or about a million other things.

Juneteenth
Your Sun sign is the most essential aspect of your birth chart and the best known. It centers and guides you. It’s the answer you give when someone asks about “your sign”. When. you’re embarking on an exploration of your personal birth chart, the Sun sign is the best place to start. Sun sign astrology was developed during the 19th century, by a journalist who examined a number of systems pertaining to astrology predicted the accuracy and widespread for individuals to use. The position of the Sun on the day you were born determines your Sun sign. No matter how obvious or forcefully it may feel, your Sun sign shapes your destiny, your relationships, and every aspect of your life. It is the first place to look when you are in need of clarity and insight into who you are and who you could be.

And my star sign is...
Let’s have a bit of fun, shall we? I will go over a few of my personality quirks that hint at my star sign. If you can guess my sign by the end of this post, then you truly are an expert in astrology. If not, that’s okay. I probably couldn’t either.

In The Stars
Being born on the 30th of September, 1943 during World War II does not sound like the ideal time for a lover to be born. My parents must have been optimists as my eldest sister was born while war was threatening, the next sister born as the war started and I was born before the war ended, just prior to the baby-boom.

Astrology Might Be Right (But Not For The Reasons You Think)
I’m a Virgo. I have been since I was born. (Although, there was that period of time about a year ago when they ‘discovered’ a new constellation and people started moving the Zodiac signs around – what was all that about?)

"Knowing Yourself is the Beginning of All Wisdom." -Aristotle
Shortly before my twenty-eighth birthday in 2020, a friend of mine (and fellow astrology aficionado) told me that twenty-eight is the year that you are reborn. 2020 was an insane year for everyone regardless of age or zodiac sign. However I did feel as though I went through many changes and had to say goodbye to the old me. With all this in mind, I started realizing that there must be some truth to astrology and what’s “written in the stars” for us. No matter how in-depth you decide to study astrology, one thing to keep in mind (especially if you are still skeptical) is that Astrology can be used as a tool.
