Office Potluck 'Chopped' Edition
Who else is tired of the veggie tray or the bag of chips at your office potluck? I know I am. Here where I work, we have at least one potluck a month, maybe more depending on birthdays! So, foods brought can get quite mundane. I'm a big lover of cooking. I watch the show Chopped as often as possible. And therefore I came up with the next best thing besides being able to compete on the show yourself:

Mason Jar Cakes. Top Story - September 2018.
This recipe is one of my favorites because it is so easy, and yet so versatile. When I moved into my new house I found a ton of brand new mason jars in the basement. My first thought was to use these cute little jars for crafting ideas. But, in all reality, I am a really unmotivated crafter. It’s one of those situations where I see a cute craft idea and try to copy it, but my end result never quite lives up to the real thing. The Art of Baking
I am a pastry chef by trade and I spend a large volume of my time baking. It's in my job title. While there is no doubt about the joys of baking at home, I've come to find that many people don't realise they're making mistakes with their cakes, My biggest one is when it comes to cooking times—over-baked cake is sad, crumbly, and often difficult to swallow without a good drink and this is simply because of the bad description of a cooked cake. Yes, when testing it, the knife or whatever you use wants to come out clean of cake batter, but if you're getting cake crumbs and clear moisture, it's ready to be removed from the oven.

Creating a Delicious Meal with Ramen and Not Much Else (A How to Guide on Cooking When You're Broke)
I was meandering through the kitchen the other day, sulking over the lack of food that was in my fridge and pantries. My stomach growled. What was I going to eat? "Wait," said my brain. A lightbulb was suddenly flickering above my head. There's frozen vegetables left in the freezer, plenty of ramen in the pantry. Maybe, just maybe, that was enough to make something great. Or tolerable. At that point, tolerable would be just fine. I quickly got to work on my plan.
