A SUPER FUN & DELICIOUS NO-BAKE SUMMER TREAT!
It is officially summertime and I’m super excited because now it’s all about spending as much quality time with the kiddos as possible before before the start of the new school year! As you guys already know… It is definitely going to be a particularly rough transition for me because the kids will be in kindergarten and will be away from home for a little longer each day so I’m going to do as much as I can to spend as much time with them as possible!

Summer Camp Adventures
I remember as a kid going camping with my scout troop. Our first night in camp our scoutmasters would make a dump cake for all of us boys and the adults, especially our summer camp. Most of the time, the scoutmasters would make a cherry dump cake. Our scoutmasters would have to make about ten dump cakes on Sunday because we had fifty boys and ten adult leaders with us. That is a lot of bellies to fill, especially little bellies. It was always difficult to start the charcoal when it rained. We had some really bad downpours.

Chips & Dip
"Food tastes better when you eat it with your family." I'm not really one to be posting recipes on Vocal. But, I really do love me some chips and dip. It has always been one of my favourite snacks. I know this is meant to be a post about summer, but every fond memory of summer that I have, includes dip being a part of it. Mmm, dip!

Huckleberries
Summer has alway been my favorite season. I’ve always loved the longer, warmer days and excitement that comes during a time of year when many people take vacations. No matter what I have planned for summer, I always feel like it’s a time when anything is possible.

Summer is a flaming Peep. Runner-Up in Summer Camp Challenge. Top Story - June 2022.
It's July 4th, and we sit in my grandparents' impeccably kept backyard around the firepit. I can hear crickets and birds singing their twilight song and fireworks starting in the distance. The air is thick with the smell of the fire, and the temperature is settling into that perfect summer evening where the setting sun hugs you with its gentle warmth.
