5 Minute Chicken Quesadillas
Quesadillas in a snap
Want a delicious meal ,yet don't want to spend a ton a time in the kitchen? Well look no further. These tasty quesadillas can be cooked up nice and easy without breaking a sweat over the stove.
One of the fusturating things about eating out besides deciding what to get is the price. I first made these after eating a version of them at a restaurant. They were so good and delicious. However eating out can get pretty costly and adds up after a while. So my thought process was: Maybe if I get the ingredients I can maybe make them at home? So that is what I set out to do.
Keep on reading below for how to cook up these delicious quesadillas!!
Cost: $20 ( however price depends on your provinces/city's pricing)
Prep Time: 10 - 15 Minutes
Cook time: 3 - 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 Roma Tomato/ On the vine
1 Green Pepper / Red pepper
2 White Mushrooms
1 white or spanish onion (optional)
1 Bag Armstrong triple triple cheese or tex Mex
1 Pkg Pc Mini tortillas original / Large tortillas
1 Pkg Ziggy's pre cooked chicken strips ( spiced or plain)
Additional Topping
Sour cream (14%)
Mild/ Medium salsa
Extra virgin olive oil/ butter
Step One: Preparation (10- 15 minutes)
(As these do cook up fairly quickly it is best to have everything you need ready to go. )
In Separate bowls dice the green pepper , mushrooms, onion and tomato into small chunks. Set bowls aside for when your ready to cook.
Next chop the precooked chicken strips into smaller pieces. (Not too small , but just to make the chicken fit on the quesadilla better).
Step Two: Cooking (3 - 5 minutes)
Turn you stove burner to a medium heat. (cooking on high may result in a burned quesadilla. A lower cooking temperature gives you better control).
Using cooking oil/ spray coat the bottom of your frying pan. If no cooking oil in on hand butter works just as well. Reapply as needed between quesadillas.
Once the frying pan is warmed up place a tortilla in the pan. Sprinkle your choice of shredded cheese onto to tortilla. Next add your garnished that you diced up earlier to one side of the tortilla. Be sure not to overfill the tortilla as it needs to folds over onto itself.
**If you are using a large tortilla then the whole flat can be covered. As well as a layer of cheese added on top of the topping to fuse the top tortilla when flipped **
Using a spatula fold the other half of the tortilla over the vegetables. Wait a few seconds for everything to fuse together and then flip. Once the cheese is melted and everything is fused together ,place onto a plate.
Step Three: Serve and enjoy!
Repeat step 2 until the desired amount of quesadillas are made.
Add to your plate or into separate bowls sour cream and salsa sauce. We used a mild/medium salsa to give it a small kick.
**If mini tortillas are not availible larger wraps work just fine and cooks the same way. Using a smaller wrap makes flipping easier, but not impossible. A large wrap can make up to four quesadillas when cut into quarters. Using a larger wrap could lead to less total cooking time in the kitchen since you'll be making four at once instead of one.
