Touring the Blue World
The emotionless seas were relatively calm despite the light winds, the navy waves not too big or choppy for the dinky little boat and its handful of crew. One by one the divers entered the cool water, each of them fully equipped and ready to go deep. Every time a diver enters, an eruption of white water splotches the surface of the vast blue expanse like a mini volcano eruption, before disappearing in a cloud of bubbles. On the surface, one would describe the Blue World as an azure desert, no signs of anything but a few seagulls squawking their repetitive call as they hovered in the air. The same could not be said about the reef below. As the divers submerged themselves, they are teleported into a world of living color. Massive coral spires of all shapes, sizes, and color dot the seascape as fish of equal variation dart in and out and all around. The few small gaps of real estate between the coral were quickly and thoroughly covered in all manner of sea grass and sea ferns. This is the Blue World most people are familiar with in the picture books and documentaries. Luckily these waters remain unaffected by encroaching disasters that have befallen the surrounding reefs. That luck will soon run out though, as it does not take the divers long to reach the edge of what some locals call the boarder of death. True to its description, the bleached coral’s white hue is a stark contrast to the vibrantly colored, healthy, living coral. It is almost as if the reef is haunted by its dead relatives, surrounded by their pale ghosts and white unliving corpses.

Yu Yuan Lake acacia flowers in full bloom, like a heavy snowfall, white dazzling. Here comes the beekeeper. The beehives were put in place, and his "home" was also settled. A thick black canvas canopy painted with paint. Inside, there were two earthen weirs, and a few wooden boards were set up on top, which were beds. A roll of bedding on the bed. Oil bottles, soy sauce bottles, vinegar bottles were lined up on the floor. A white iron barrel already had more than half a barrel of honey in it. Outside a pot sat on a honeycomb coal stove. A woman was chopping green garlic on the counter. When the pot was boiling, she dropped a handful of dry cut noodles into the pot. When the noodles were cooked, she put them in a bowl, added the ingredients, sprinkled the garlic, and ladled half a spoonful of bean curd into a bowl. One bowl for each person. She ate the one with bean curd.

Planet
A planet is a large astronomical body that is neither a star nor a stellar remnant. At least eight planets exist in the Solar System: the terrestrial planets Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, and the giant planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The word probably comes from the Greek planḗtai, meaning "wanderers", which in antiquity referred to the Sun, Moon, and five bodies visible as points of light that moved across the background of the stars. These five planets were Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Earth was recognized to be a planet when heliocentrism supplanted geocentrism during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. With the development of the telescope, the meaning of "planet" broadened to include objects not visible to the naked eye: the ice giants Uranus and Neptune; Ceres and other bodies later recognized to be part of the asteroid belt; and Pluto, later found to be the largest member of the collection of icy bodies known as the Kuiper belt. The discovery of other large objects in the Kuiper belt, particularly Eris, spurred debate about how exactly to define "planet". The International Astronomical Union adopted a standard by which the four terrestrials and four giants qualify, placing Ceres, Pluto and Eris in the category of dwarf planet, though this standard has not been universally embraced.[1][2][3] Further advances in astronomy led to the discovery of over five thousand planets outside the Solar System, or exoplanets. These include hot Jupiters — giant planets that orbit close to their parent stars — like 51 Pegasi b, super-Earths like Gliese 581c that have masses in between that of Earth and Neptune, and planets smaller than Earth like Kepler-20e. Multiple exoplanets have been found to orbit in the habitable zones of their respective stars, but Earth remains the only planet known to support life.

Zucchini - Summer’s Signature Dish What is it about summer squash? Is it the beautiful flowers it produces? It is probable that the design of the squash blossom necklace came from the huge yellow flowers of the squash plant that Native Americans relied on in the Southwest. When the first squash blossom appears in the garden, it is always a delight to behold. Bees swoop in and out drinking nectar and I wonder what squash honey taste like. Or is it the prolific production of a fruit that can be used in endless recipes, both sweet or savory?
