Kyiv Reels from Lethal Missile and Drone Barrage in Escalated Russian Assault
Kyiv, Ukraine – The Ukrainian capital was rocked overnight by a wave of Russian missile and drone strikes, marking one of the deadliest assaults on the city in recent months. Emergency personnel are continuing their search and rescue efforts amid the rubble, and officials in Ukraine have confirmed that there have been numerous casualties and significant damage to the infrastructure. Russian ballistic missiles and Iranian-made Shahed drones were used in a coordinated aerial attack, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration. Air raid sirens blared across the city as air defense systems scrambled to intercept the barrage. "The Great War/The Great Gatsby" was an unusual but interesting body of work at the legendary Carnegie Hall. Narrated by John Monsky and backed by an orchestra as well as actors/singers, this two hour show ran the gambit of video, song and narration.

Working, working, working
I have not been too present here on Vocal lately for I have been working on a project for my new job as a text-to-text transcriptionist. Been working on 200 or so handwritten recipe cards for DittoTranscipts.com. Some of these recipes are really hard to read, but it is also fun for it is like solving a mystery or a completing a puzzle of various ingredients and directions on how to make them.

Nora Roberts has written a novel entitled 'Identity'. This is a family romance novel of Morgan and Miles, but more importantly it's about learning to be safe and protecting who you are in many ways. The character of Gavin Rozwell is a person who steals people identities along with what they own for himself. Morgan learns she has many friends who are very willing to help her put her life back in order. She even learns self-defense moves like we all should learn in order to protect herself and whomever may be around. This is a story on being loved.

Champions League expert picks, predictions: Can Real Madrid pull off a miracle against Arsenal in Spain?
As the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second legs take place this midweek, there are still ninety minutes and possibly more. On Tuesday two teams tried valiantly to overcome deficits but couldn't quite get there in the end as, Borussia Dortmund defeated Barcelona 3-1 to fall 5-3 on aggregate while Aston Villa conceded twice early before rallying with three goals of their own, leaving them trailing 5-4 to PSG on aggregate when time ran out. Ultimately the multi-goal defeats in the first leg for the home teams just proved to be too much to overcome. On Wednesday, Real Madrid will attempt an epic comeback against Arsenal, and Inter Milan will face Bayern Munich at the San Siro, where the hosts hold a one-goal advantage. For games that finish level on aggregate, 30 minutes of extra time will be played, and if still tied, penalty kicks will be used to decide the ties.

Holy Week
Last Sunday was Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. So, what does Holy Week really entail? I think it actually starts on Ash Wednesday when one receives the ashes from burnt palms, and the pastor or priest makes a small cross on one's forehead. Then, there is Maundy Thursday and the washing of the feet if I remember right leading into Good Friday and the Last Supper and then Easter Sunday for "He is Risen!"

Not-so-happily-ever-after
Rachel Renee Russell has written another in the series of 'Dork Diaries' and this one is entitled 'Tales from a Not-so-Happily-Ever-After'. This is the diary of the main character of Nikki J. Maxwell and the start of her day that describes her morning routine, and of course something always goes wrong. In this one getting ready for school and running late because of her younger sister taking something from her that now makes her feel hurried, and you pretty much know that something is going to happen and does but will not be discovered till it is too late and at school.
