investigation
Whodunnit, and why? All about criminal investigations and the forensic methods used to search for clues and collect evidence to get to the bottom of the crime.
DB Cooper
With a sense of flair and panache, some crimes go down in history because of the way they were done, solved or not. They'll forever be remembered for the style of the crime, the brazenness to pull such a stunt, and they will be remembered for the particular person that would do such a thing. DB Cooper was one of those men, and in a small way, people have all struggled with the term criminal as writers, even investigators, respect his daring.

Born To Be A Star
No matter where we come from, we are all born to do something. Whether it is to become a teacher, a doctor, a painter, a writer, or an actor, everyone has a purpose or goal that determines their life. Maybe some of us had a silver spoon and an unlimited bank account, never having to work, or perhaps we are poor, working three jobs while going to school, or a full-time student dedicated to a life of academia. Well, Elizabeth Short was none of these things, but inevitably, she was born to be a star!

What if the Killer Was an Ideology, Not a Person?
My anxiety-ridden mind is prone to chronic overthinking and scaling minor doubts into full-blown freakouts. Case in point, when I first moved to Ottawa for university, I was terrified. I had endured the 6-hour flight alone. It was my first time in Canada, and I had no family and no friends here, so there was no one to pick me up from the airport. Everything felt foreign, and my mind kept turning over a singular thought: what if I disappeared?

He then instructed the pilots to take off again, this time towards Mexico. Shortly thereafter, he leapt out of the back of the plane and into pop culture lore.

The Downed Plane
It had been a tumultuous day in Dar es Salaam. While the planned focus of the summit was supposed to be peace in Burundi, the group quickly shifted to conversation about the Arusha Accords, which had been signed by the government of Rwanda and the rebel force Rwandan Patriotic Front in an attempt to end the Rwandan Civil War. The Rwandan president, Juvénal Habyarimana, was criticized for dragging the implementation of the peace process out, and for heightening the racial tensions in the country. Burundian president Cyprien Ntaryamira was especially incensed, as hostilities in Rwanda could easily overflow into his own neighboring country.

Midwest Murder Mystery
When I moved to Muncie, Indiana, I was elated to discover that there was more to do than where I’d lived before (which was quite deep into the country.) Everywhere I turned, there was an easily accessible fast food place or little oddball shop to check out. Did you know Garfield creator Jim Davis is from Muncie? You even see him around town on occasion. Additionally, David Letterman went to Ball State University in Muncie and even has a mailbox specifically for him downtown. Last I heard, a building was being named after him as well.
