Embarrassment
Toothpaste
A moment to yourself. Nothing to think about but your daily routine. Brush teeth, shower, and things seem to be normal as they should. At a moment's strike, you find it in the mirror. Tears roll down your face. You find it hard to breathe as you brush your teeth. you continue to brush until the tears become overwhelming. The saliva forces you to swallow some toothpaste and you can't help but weep. You begin choking on the toothpaste and you stop so you’re not found on the floor.

I Keep Having the Same Annoying Dreams
I am 13 weeks pregnant. Over the past few weeks, I've been super tired. I've barely wanted to do anything. The sites I work for have been dipping when it comes to earnings and traffic, so that is partly to blame for the demotivation I've been feeling. (Why bother putting in effort for a few cents?)

Whither Toronto?
Why do I hate that city so much? I know that I am not alone with this. Many of my fellow Canadians have very strong opinions about T.O., Hogtown, the Economic Heart of Canada…and That Place. But there is no hate like the hate that grows and festers like the one from someone who lives in close proximity to that town.

That's Entertainment
For those who don't live in the Canadian province of Ontario, the Niagara Region in Ontario, or let alone anywhere in Canada... let me tell you about a store called That's Entertainment. It was Niagara's favorite one stop shop for movies, games, music, and snacks. It was located at 353 Lake Street in Saint Catharines, Ontario. It ran from September 1989 to June 2022. It literally ran for 33 years. You read this right. The store literally lasted longer than rental giants like Blockbuster Video, Bonanza Video, and Rogers Video. It even survived the streaming platforms. So, what happened? It couldn't overcome being shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. It closed it's doors this year and despite being a cinephile who still prefers buying his favorite movies on Blu-Ray and now 4K Blu-Ray... I COULDN'T BE ANY HAPPIER! But why?

The Bleep-Bleep Email
While employed in a small firm as a receptionist, there were many times when I was bored to the point, I felt like taking a nap. Nope, not allowed. Well, of course, it’s not allowed! How would it look if someone came through the door looking for my boss? Hence, naps were not allowed. Neither was doing a crossword puzzle or reading a book. If we had no work, we had to invent it. Oh well, how to amuse myself and push my boredom aside? That was a huge question. Especially since I worked for an enormously strict lawyer. In the time I worked for him, I never once saw him in a good mood. Was it the job that always had him see foul days? Was it just his personality? No idea!

Parking for Dummies
The other day my buddy Ben told me, rather sheepishly, that he couldn’t find where he had parked his car at the airport the previous weekend. He said he searched each level of the airport parking garage for an hour before giving up and taking a taxi home, to the tune of $90.

Shifting Mortality
You said we are equals but is that true now? You become two while I’m stuck in one. I was warned about you and set to prepare for practice. You hide behind your words as if it’s your superpower. You treat a pet like a child, with negative reinforcement with toxic words. Like a toy you’re willing to throw it away when it gives you more trouble than peace. Similar to a newborn child, the pain comes more than the pleasure. The joys arrive in between the annoyance. Babies need patience and guidance—no torment and neglect. Like a fire when you see a spark, you’re ready to blow it all up and go for the tragedy. Damaged thoughts rage in as the unthinkable surfaces.

Solo Meal Dates Should Be More Common
Often times have been lonely times. I'm a person that left my home country and has seemed to lose all the so-called friends I had in the US. When I'm in the states, I'm currently afraid to call it America because of a few people arguing that the two continents and all 35 countries are called "America".
