Fall of Shame
My entire life can be described as a series of fractured fairy tales that are strung together by stand upon strand of unconventional pearls of wisdom. These unique, opaque orbs are a collection of life lessons that one would never expect to learn in the ways I fatefully did. Some of them are true tragedies that resulted in profound learning experiences that I wish I could have avoided all together. Others are so bizarre and comical that they take people off guard by their sheer ridiculousness. Then I have the jagged little barbs that fill the spaces in between. These are strictly mortifying events that taught me nothing, except how to pray to god that they would never happen again.

[The Laundry Can Wait]
Lets take a small trip back in time pre pandemic when our lives were full of running. Full of sports, full of school and packing lunches. Weekends were spent in crowded grocery stores. Stopping by your loved ones houses to stop and say hi! Running to your grandmother's because she made "extra" of your favorite dessert. Now, lets add in a full time job on top of it all and making sure you remember snacks for little league! You were invincible , your schedule was engraved in your soul and you knew no different . This is your life you made and are proud of and have become so used to !

I'm not him
I was just 18,we all remember what that was like. I had met this girl at a party. We all know that feeling, when you see someone and your thinking wow, I could spend the rest of my life with them. This might just be that person that I marry. It's like the whole world just disappears and all you can see is them. I know we all have those very special moments, that moment you think you're going to remember it forever, so you can tell your children, and grandchildren about that first time you met their Mom, Dad, Grandmother or Grandpa. That moment when your heart is filled with so much Love, you feel like your walking on clouds. I think we can all remember those moments. That very first time we fall in Love, the first kiss or your first time. You couldn't eat or sleep they were all you thought about. Thinking about them still today, takes you right back to that moment. When your heart was filled with Passion and Desire.

The Formality of Dance
The Formality of a Dance I’ve got to believe women invented dancing, men don’t have that kind of freedom in themselves, and formal dances like Homecoming and Proms couldn’t of come out of the mind of a guy. The fear I had was almost to much to handle, sure I was interested in females, but generally from a distance. And it started early for me, I got invited to a Homecoming my freshman year and how does a guy say no to a girl, unless of course it’s your sister, and she doesn’t really count.

Being Me
Being Me My mind was a kaleidoscope of the absurd, brilliantly colored, opulent, but with no intent. My plate was always worth more than my meal, for my ideas were dreams without a pillow to lay my head, I was a ship with no port in which to moor. I hustled a flurry of nothingness, flight without wings, the sky and the earth upside down, inside out, reversed as you know them.

You’ll Never Believe Who I Talked To Today
The year was 2011 I had recently inherited a …sum …of money, it wasn't so much that I was gloriously rich, in fact to some people I suppose it would've been a generous contribution to their savings. To me, however, having grown up low income in a middle class neighborhood, it seemed like ALOT of money; for the same reason, I had the money management skills of a large, overripe spaghetti squash. Granted, there were certain things I really did need, the 42-inch tv I bought from Walmart to replace the 20-inch, 15-year-old tube tv that sat in my rented single room was one, clothes were another. There were things I didn't need, 8-hour writing sessions with Chardonnay and ham sandwiches at the local art cafe, for instance. I also didn't necessarily need to keep my friends fed with fast food for 3 months. There were some good times too though, and one mortifying moment that I think about at an unhealthy frequency of about once a week.

Butterflies of Shattered Things
I love the Ocean beach in the morning. Especially that one summer a few years ago with Jake. The summer I couldn’t sleep until we left, counting down every hour until we finally made it to the airport. Landing to the long awaited white sandy beaches and the clear blue waters.

Before the Fall
Hari had been three hours late for our first date. There had been no apology. There had been no hello, either. There was only a phone call that began “… before you start ranting at me, let me explain…” He instructed me to travel to Russell Square after making me wait so long, which I grudgingly did. When I got to the station, my phone rang. It was him. He was standing on the other side of the road, but I did not immediately see him. I saw two old men. He said the two old men were Indian, like him, and that he was the other Indian guy, implying I was race blind. The two old men were both white. He had a hang up about race that I never fully understood. When we first began talking after meeting online, he had said he wanted to talk to me on the telephone but said he hoped I didn’t mind his thick Indian accent. I said, “of course not”, while feeling very confused. If he was born in London, why would he have a thick Indian accent? When he did eventually telephone me, there was no Indian accent at all. I never mentioned it, and neither did he.

Top 5 Essential Thrift-finds Found Whilst Shopping at Thrift-stores
I have always been an avid fan of thrift-finds at thrift-stores. I remember when I was a little girl, my mother would wake me up early in the morning, ask me to get dressed, slip into my flimsy pair of sandals, finish the milk and bread roll, while she finishes her coffee too. After that quick breakfast, she grabs the basket with her right hand, and grabs my tiny hand with her left hand and then off to market we go.
