DARK HEART: FUTURE IMPERFECT
I walk down your streets with my acid-proof trench-coat, gloves and broad-brimmed hat; the only protection against the burning rain that falls from the skies. No matter how many times anyone told you to do something about the state of this city, you decided to do nothing but hide away in your safe little homes.

THE 3 MUS-KITTIES
My wife and I have always enjoyed the company of animals, even before we were together; but I have never believed that pets should be bought, as there are so many animals out there who were domesticated and then forced to fend for themselves. Therefore, when we decided to take on pets they were more thrust upon us to get them out of their situation, rather than us seeking them out.

CREATIVE WRITING: Breaking Down Characters Through Music
Whenever I first get a seed of an idea for my writing, I immediately turn to music to help it grow. If it’s a scene or a character that needs to be built or further developed, music is my key to unlocking motivations and events. This has been something I have used for much of my writing life and has given me an eclectic taste in music, as well as a smorgasbord of tales to tell.

AUSTRALIA AT WAR… with EMUS!
Australia has been in its fair share of wars; from the Boer War in South Africa (1899 – 1902), the Boxer Rebellion in China (1900 – 1901) to the First World War (1914 – 1918) and Second World War (1939 – 1945). Then they moved on to the Korean War (1950 – 1953), the Vietnam War (1962 – 1975), the Gulf War (1990 – 1991), Iraq War (2003 – 2009) and are still present in Afghanistan, since 2001.

IF YOU ENJOYED MARVEL’S CINEMATIC UNIVERSE OR EVEN DC’S EXTENDED UNIVERSE, THEN YOU MIGHT ENJOY THESE OTHER SUPERHERO MOVIES
I don’t know if you side yourself with Marvel or DC, but you more than likely have watched the movies that have more recently been released from either universe. Many people have voiced their opinions of these movies and, I believe, many have complained about them for no real reason.

AQUARIUS: The Thinker's Star Sign
“There are billions of people in the world, how can they all fit under twelve star signs.” You say. Being an Aquarius, I think differently. There are billions of people in the world and we all do fit under the twelve star signs; however we also endure different things in our lives, grow up with different families and friends, grow up in different countries and environments, which ultimately alter the basic traits set out in the star signs we are born under.

A Whole Lotto Problems
“Congratulations!” Barry forced a smile. His neighbour, Cole Porter, patted him on the back and turned to his wife, Barbara, for another photograph with the winning ticket. He did not notice the look of distain on Barry’s face, as the old man shoved another chocolate cannoli into his mouth.

MISDIRECTION
PART 1: SUICIDAL SWEATERS A sense of foreboding filled the room. There were no sounds, other than the leaking tap and the shrill sound of the sirens leaving the apartment block. The four remaining members of the Sweater family sat still in the room, along with their local priest and me. While they prayed silently to their god for the soul of Nero Sweater, I read over the words that were painted black along the lounge room wall once more: I felt that if I could only reach higher, I could touch the stars. This same statement painted nine times in each room of the apartment.
