Medb, Queen of Connacht
Introduction This is my fourth piece inspired by Justine G. Cappelli's gorgeous artwork. Medb is pronounced "Maeve" (/meɪv/ or MAY-v). This ancient Irish name, often associated with the mythological Queen of Connacht, derives from Old Irish and corresponds to modern Irish spellings like Méabh or Meadhbh. It is commonly understood to mean "she who intoxicates" or "meadow".

Whitby In Yorkshire With Anchorage Alaska
Introduction While I was walking in Pannett Park, I noticed the lamp post above and found it was presented to Whitby from its sister city, Anchorage, in Alaska. Below is the plaque, and then I remember the statue of Captain Cook on West Cliff that has a similar inscription, but I don't have a personal picture of this. I found this:
