Let’s Ring In 2021 with Better Feng Shui. Top Story - December 2020.
As 2020 draws to its close, I think it is safe to say that we all cannot wait to kiss this year goodbye! Who knows what 2021 will bring us but I plan to kick her off with some changes within my living environment. I have spent this past year inside due to Covid and a compromised immune system resulting from major surgery so I am definately ready to bring some fresh energy into my home. In 2021, I will be practicing better Feng Shui.

Simple Peanut Butter Cookies
I can remember when my children were small how much they enjoyed it when I would get out the mixing bowls and wooden spoons. Oh, how their little faces would light right up, knowing that their mommy was getting ready to bake something tasty. I recall those days as some of my fondest kitchen memories. Little ones were tugging on my shirt, asking when the treats will be ready or one of the girls dragging a chair over to the counter and climbing up for an eye level view.

A Wisconsin Native American Retreat
Ancestry is an important part of all of our lives. Tracing family roots not only provides ethnic background but a deeper understanding of the challenges our forefather’s faced in society. Information such as predisposition to different medical conditions can be attained aiding in making better lifestyle choices. To learn our family history can be most beneficial in feeling complete as a human being. Connecting the lineal dots we feel whole knowing exactly where we came from.

5 Reasons to Not Ditch Your Pad and Pen
We live in an era of technology where just about anything you can imagine can be acquired by clicking a keyboard. Most occupations in our modern society require minimal computer knowledge. Whether it entails simple data entry skills to a more advanced comprehension of computer language, the world is continuously evolving. Even our day to day living is made more efficient with cell phones forever on the upgrade. There is always going to be a new gadget on the market to accommodate people and the desire for more proficiency and, of course, speed. Yes, we do indeed live in a hustle and bustle world where technology will only continue to improve.

20 Years Grateful; Freedom From Domestic Abuse
An Open Letter of Gratitude to My Daughter Dear Blessed, Although this year has been extremely trying I am the type of person who finds the light within every tunnel. This November marks the 20th anniversary of our family being free from domestic abuse. It is quite a milestone and what a fitting way to close out this exasperating year by celebrating the strength and love within our household. I think about how far we all have come over the years and I just smile. Today, I turn my attention to you regarding your courage as a child and how this very same courage woke me up quite literally to the reality of an undeniably deadly situation.

Grandma And Glitter
For as long as I can remember I have loved glitter. I mean heck why not? A little sparkle just adds a smile to things in my opinion and I have been glistening up things for years. Whenever I get my nails done in a salon I pick a pretty neutral color then have the manicurist top it off with some twinkle and it just pops! I love glimmer for formal wear and complimentary pieces to add in to my wardrobe. It is just so much fun to me and especially so during the Christmas holiday season. When everyone else is complaining about glitter all over the floor and carpet from ornaments, tinsel, wrappings and whatnot, I just buzz around the house humming while I vacuum. Glitter just never completely cleans up and I always giggle to myself thinking it is just completely awesome!

Playlist of a 90's Stripper. Second Place in Melodic Milestone Playlist Challenge. Top Story - June 2023.
In my 20s, I loved clubbing and dancing the night away. A couple of weekends a month, I would get a babysitter for my two young daughters and hit the club scene with my girlfriends. It was a great way to unwind, socialize with old pals, and meet new people. I enjoyed getting a break from my usual mom gear (t-shirts & jeans, or sweats) to swap out for some heels, a sexy new dress, a fresh hairdo, and makeup. Oh, those sure were the days. My friends and I could move on that dance floor which caught much attention.

Sledding in the Berkshires
It is the brink of the 2020 holiday season and unlike any, we have ever known. One way or another we will all try to do our best to salvage traditions in light of social distancing. Perhaps gift shopping is best done online which isn’t terrible since most of us shop online already. Technology will provide virtual visits when travel and gatherings are not safe. I know it seems really impersonal maybe even lonely but these are the times we are currently living in. Even if things cannot be the same as years gone by we will all have to find a way to get into the holiday spirit and make the best of things. Personally I am excited for our first snowfall not a dusting but at least a couple of inches. Although this is something many would rather do without but for me it brings back some wonderful childhood memories.

How Cold Pressed Coconut Oil Healed My Scars
As a teenager I had pretty bad acne and tried everything on the market that I could get my hands on to make it all just go away. Unfortunately nothing worked. In fact some of the products were quite harsh; drying out my skin, some even irritating my skin further, causing more breakouts. I was also guilty of squeezing and popping pimples; a big no- no. To try and cover it all up I would pile on foundation and makeup. This actually drew more attention to my face and my skin continued to suffer. I endured this all throughout high school and in cycles into my adult years. Finally things settled down and in my 30s’ I found myself acne free for good!
