Did mediocrity choose you, or did your subconscious choose mediocrity?
In work and life, most of the time, we want to be outstanding. For example, even in the village, we also want to be respected by others and make others feel that we are very good. But we regret to find that no matter how strong our subjective desire is, the final outcome is still mediocre, and we did not become the kind of person we imagined. What is the reason? Based on my short life experience and all kinds of information from reading books, I personally think that this is not just caused by external reasons and congenital defects, but by our subconscious choice of mediocrity. This is very contradictory. On the surface, we don't want mediocrity, but why do we choose mediocrity subconsciously? The realistic plot of the Chinese people has caused the conservatism of choice. We live in this land, from birth to death, and are affected by all kinds of Ming and potential cultures in this land all the time. Its Chinese pragmatism and realism is one of the most profound cultures. Our parents and teachers convey this spirit all the time, but it is realism and pragmatism that make us more mediocre. Pragmatism makes us need to see the effect immediately, rather than the long-term illusory future. In most cases, the current optimal choice is often not the historical optimal choice. The overall reason is that our vision is often not long-term, and we are far from making the overall optimal judgment only seeing now. Generally speaking, Westerners like to take risks and are willing to give their best efforts without knowing any results. In this way, even if not everyone can succeed, they are out of the range of local minimum after all. The excessive emphasis on practical interests also limits the breadth and depth of our thinking, making us always think about the problems around us, rather than thinking about broader problems. We pay more attention to the result than the process. The history of success and failure gives us too many warnings, that is, there must be a good ending. In fact, no one knows how to achieve a good ending. If the result is bad, then this person is bad. When we evaluate a person, we tend to be one hundred good, one bad and one hundred bad. This binary thought of black and white obliterates the complex and rich essence of human nature. When a person is in the scenery, many of us applaud and praise him, instead of looking at his successful process and real experience, or praising all kinds of analytical spirit. We look at superficial things, which often makes us lose the opportunity to grow up. We can read all kinds of literature and history books in history. Few are objective, and most are one-sided. This cultural atmosphere is not suitable for all kinds of meaningful exploration, because we can't really respect the so-called losers. Laziness in thought and behavior makes us mediocre. In the process of most of our growth, our thoughts are lazy and we are unwilling to think about the current problems. We always hope that someone will give us ready-made answers. Who says Chinese people are diligent? Diligence is only manifested in physical labor, but many times we are unwilling to use our brains. We waste too much time on small things and too much attention on words. Le Pen of France analyzed similar phenomena in detail in his book the rabble. Why can good people finally be led to a dangerous situation by a leader. This expansion of group psychology has led to the loss of each individual's independent self, and even pride in participating in it. In life day after day, year after year, gradually fall into it, unable to extricate themselves. The pressure of survival makes him mentally and physically exhausted. He has no spirit of the past, and he has no action to work hard for it, pushing all his words to the outside environment. () this is a society with impetuous people, and it can't be changed by one's own power; But you can change yourself, let yourself calm down and do one thing deeply and thoroughly, so that others can reach an unprecedented level. Greed makes us mediocre. Dickens wrote this passage in a tale of two cities: This is the best era and the worst era. Our greed makes us always consider the maximization of interests instead of choosing what we can do every time we face choices. Greed disturbs the inner peace, bewilders the eyes, and loses the direction. Always waste a lot of time and resources in vain. It's not that we don't have the potential to become outstanding people, nor the conditions to become useful talents. We finally become mediocre people and dispensable people in the society. That's the result of our subconscious choice. We are too realistic, pay too much attention to the result, and we are too lazy and greedy. Therefore, it seems that we can only face the mediocre ending "happily". People who don't dream must be mediocre. How do we slide to mediocrity? God rewards us for our work: don't go to mediocrity in "taking it for granted"
