It Was Never About the Yarn. Top Story - March 2024.
It all started with yarn. Literally. My Mom's a knitter. She was sitting on the couch, lamenting her woeful first attempt at knitting as her toes poked through the many holes of the blanket draped over her. She had crocheted for many years before, and decided to teach herself knitting. This blanket was the end result of a several months-long journey of connecting loops. A contrast to her comfort zone of knot-making with crochet.

S.A.D
Winter was never my favorite season. It was cold, damp, dark, and depressing. So much so that psychologists came up with an acronym for it, like they do with everything. They called it “S.A.D.” Fitting, really, given it pretty much summed up how most people in the Northern Hemisphere felt this time of year. Despite the garbage thrown at from every wayward Hallmark movie, ‘twas not the season to be jolly. Unless there was alcohol. That helped.

Before I Fall to Earth. Content Warning.
I remember first learning about the states of matter in grade school. It all seemed simple enough. An ice cube was the safest example. The teacher put an ice cube on the table, then lit a fire from above. She watched as the ice slowly melted, leaving a puddle in its wake. Solid to liquid, just like that. It was magic.

The last box was just sealed. A sliver of light sneaked its way through a slit in the tattered curtains, yellowed with age. I found myself lying in a corner, dust settled around me like the freshly fallen snow. My name? It’s Tally. But that hardly matters now. What does is my story.
