The wind knows your name. Do you hear her call you, an echo of my screams?
I yearn for Lethe and the holy forgetting her waters offer.
Light the pyre, dance, wild, in and through the flames, and hope you come through unscathed.
You set my bed and head aflame, and watched, amused, as I was consumed.
Love’s funeral pyre. We clasped hands, watched it burn, asked, fondly, the question.
music-lit flame, reached crescendo, swept away all in an ash river.
exhilaration, imparted to me from the wind, a world away.
Man tamed the earth with reins of fire, but reins became whips, lashing the world.
Point me onward, to the whale-road. Back in time the water will take me.
still burning beneath Poseidon’s canopy, an ethereal flame.
send slow-creeping hands up from the center. wrap me in a thousand loves.
