skin, tinder under your grazing fingertips; tease me into burning.

“itsy bitsy fire drowned in the water spout;” rain- inundated truth.
your hair takes too long to dry, he’d say. it did. but i liked his damp touch.
electricity sets fires, in carelessness, so put those eyes away.
I’ll show my tattoos if you show me your scars; let our eyes set fires.
one look from you, and the freezing coals within me, swiftly rekindled.
fatigue burns in that slow way, drags you into an underwater life.
burning and churning, the words inside me, fight for poetic release.
stick a hand into the well of my mind, pluck yet another haiku.
tongue-tied, deep fried in the center of the pure flame. i set it myself.
too much too close too me; fiery chaos, makes a desolate wasteland.
my anger, flaming tsunami, floods without sign; burning, drowning wrath.
