PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder. We have heard it, we have seen it on the screen. Media and television have focused around soldiers who have been through war and have seen death. However, PTSD can affect just about anyone. It has affected me and it is still there. I had no idea I had PTSD, I thought all of my past life events have been figured out. I have spoken to someone after the event had happened and I thought I was doing fine. Until...trigger. Trigger. I did not know what that word meant until it happened. I was brought back to a moment where I did not feel safe. I was brought back to the moment where I was hurt by someone I trusted. For a long time I believed it was my fault, that I deserved what I got. I did not. I did not deserve an ounce of it. The fact is I did not open up to anyone about my experience, other than the priest while in confession. He told me what I knew was right. He said to me: "What happened to you was not your fault, it was his for having these thoughts that led him to believe it was okay." I heard what I knew and it reaffirmed everything I had been taught as a child. When you say no to someone it means no. You do not have to give an explanation, you do not need a reason. No. Means. No. He did not get it. Why? because no one in his life has ever said no to him. I went on the pill shortly after for fear it would happen again. I should not have to do that, I should not be so afraid of being hurt to take medications that mess with your hormones, that make you feel emotions that you are not used to. That should not be okay.

Joy of Resin Making
There is one word that I see and I get stumped. That word is "joy" it can be anything. People can find joy in all sorts of stuff like shopping, like gift-giving, Christmas or doing what you love. I came across this challenge and I wanted to share something special and different from what everyone else loves to do. That's when it came to me. Resin making! of course, it hit me like a pile of bricks. Resin making is an interesting hobby to have and certainly not friendly towards your wallet that is one thing that I learned.

How I Met Your Mother is one of the most popular sit-coms out there. The show is about a group of friends that go through all sorts of shenanigans together, but the one that sticks out like a sore thumb is Barney Stinson, he is demeaning, degrading and horrible towards women and his attitude towards them. He has played tricks and sleazy "plays" to get women to sleep with him. Despite, those obvious flaws, he is always there for his friends. okay, thought eve as she looked in the mirror. Last date before signing off of Bumble for a month. It will probably be a nothing date. She considered canceling it but that was not like her to cancel a date especially last minute. Eve had chosen a great outfit already and did her make-up, so canceling was already out of the question.

I Hope He Likes Me
Disappointment. The word "disappointment" came into Aria's mind. She could not pull off her black dress anymore, she used to fit into it perfectly, but with her new weight loss, she looked like she was drowning in it. Aria pulled her dress over her head and tossed it on the wooden floor. She peered from her room down the hall to her sister's closed room door. She bit her lip. Aria could already hear her sister asking why she would take her pink dress, but it was the only thing that would look good on her new reinvented body. Aria went for it, she stepped into her sister's walk-in closet. She found the pink dress and she tugged it off the hanger and she went back to her own room with the dress in hand. Aria put it on and indeed it looked perfect. Finally, she could on her make-up. She peered at the reflection in the mirror, her green eyes stared back at her, she carefully applied each layer of make-up. When she stepped back into the frame of the mirror she was satisfied. Her dark make-up made her eyes pop out, her pink lipstick did not clash with the dress.

Carpet Stained Red With Merlot
Aurora Prescott stared at herself in the mirror. She could barely recognize herself, it has been a while since she was on a first date. It must have been three years since Jason left her for her former best friend. Aurora's caramel-colored hair was curled to perfection, they fell in waves, her dark eyes popped with the dark eye make-up she had not worn in a while. Despite the three years of not being with anyone, her body was still stunning; a flat stomach and slender long legs said it all; she was a yoga instructor. Aurora leaned in closer to the mirror and she uncapped the red lipstick and slowly painted her lips into an approving red.

The Black Book Heist
It all started about three weeks ago. I was taking care of my sick father, since the covid-19 hit, I decided to take care of him. He did not have Covid. However, he was sick with cancer. It was hard seeing him like this with his face sunken in, dark circles under his eyes, his wrinkles in his weak smile, his beard that grew in because he did not have the will to shave it. He used to be a real hero; he used to have muscles that once saved my brother from being squished by a car. Anyways, we were out on one of his walks, he moved at a slow pace, and I had a hard time slowing down to his tempo; I could hear him wheezing behind me as we walked along the paved path in the park. We stopped by our usual bench, dedicated to Susan Martin, great friend, mother, sister, and humanitarian.

We like having something to do; some of us love our jobs and look forward to going to our job every day; others like sitting at home reading a book or gossiping with friends on the front patio of your favorite bar.
