Did you know that Vocal has Collections of Humans?
Well, specifically- they have a page of collected stories written over the years by Vocal Creator/Writers on various topics dealing with dating and love.
Since this was news to me, and this IS the month when a (young) writer's thoughts lightly turn to love, I wanted to bring this newly discovered information to your attention.
Collections in Humans
There are four Collections within the Humans Community
^ Dating Do's and Don'ts is 21 Vocal-pages of Rules, Mistakes, and Advice. The oldest piece was written 9 years ago, and was the first piece that author wrote on the Vocal platform. That Creator/Writer hasn't written in the last five years.
The latest entry in this mysterious Collection is just 5 months old, and it's appearance here broke a FIVE YEAR cold streak since the entry before it was added. The most recent Creator/Writer has only one other piece on the Vocal platform, also written 5 months ago and also in the Humans Community. Will they write again? Perhaps subscribe and find that out for yourself?
^This Collection's oldest piece is 9 years old, and the author is still active on Vocal with an astounding (to me!) 1012 pieces on the Vocal platform. Rich has a wide variety of content evolved over the years and he has consistently highlighted local sports in the Unbalanced Community. I encourage you to check out the way he blends his content with high blogspot and photography. I admire the way he has put the Vocal tools to amazing use. I think I have a lot I can learn from Rich Monetti.
The latest entry in the Online Dating Collection is just four years old, and was a Top Story.
^The oldest entry in this Collection was from 9 years ago and is a pretty cool recommendation list of books to read after a breakup. The author only wrote three pieces for Vocal, the last 8 years ago. The most recent piece in the Second Chance of Love Collection is from 4 years ago.
I don't know how these pieces are added here; I have written several pieces about my own Second Chance, and I think it's heartwarming that some of these rays of rekindled warmth have found a home somehow within this listing. The Collection does not seem to have been started as part of a Contest.
^Sponsored by O.school, the oldest entry is 8 years ago, and the newest is 6 years old. This seems to have come about due to a contest in January 2018. The Grand Prize was $500.00. Alas; we have no participant comments since the ability to do so on the Vocal platform was nonexistent at that time. Although that contest is long-over, a prompt about your Worst Date could be just what you need to keep your (creative) juices flowing.
O.school is still around, and is a trove of sex and sex tool education.
What I Have Learned
I've been on Vocal 'for a while' and I'm tickled to have learned something new. Well; I suppose I should have said 'noticed something new'.
The reason I found this at all is because I wondered if Mike Singleton (heart) Mikeydred's latest recycled piece would show up as a new piece or be relegated to the spot where it was first assigned when he originally wrote it. (To better understand what the stuff I just wrote actually means I encourage you to read his piece. He has been trying unsuccessfully to have an issue with his ability to post original content, enter contests, and more. So he is [I think, although I am unclear about the actual machinations] unpublishing, editing, and republishing older content. Since he can't make new stuff to gain reads, why not read the latest piece that brough about my article, no matter how indirect that happened?)
I've also 'noticed' that Collections are on many, but not all, Communities. These are 'Themed story collections curated by Vocal moderators', with no specific guidance as to how you can join or influence the inclusion of your own work. Although anecdotal, I suspect that Collections might be only on the original Communities and not those added over the past four-or-so-years. (Don't quote me on that. I'm writing this on a work break and fueled by coffee, not credibility and research)
Out of curiosity I checked out the Sports-Community of Unbalanced, positive I would find a Collection dominated by Rich Monetti ( he of the Online Dating first-entry and now someone that can teach us all a thing or seven of ways to use Vocal tools!). To my surprise- there are NO Collections in Unbalanced. I'm sorry, Rich; I think you've been robbed.

Whoaaaa, I had no clue about this! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I am in the same boat as you and Dana. I had no clue there were Collections. I've been on Vocal for a few years and only really checked out the Communities to see where my articles best fit. "and this IS the month when a (young) writer's thoughts lightly turn to love,", Let's be honest here. There is nothing "light" about how much thoughts turn to love during this time...LOL!
Thank you for this, Judey! As you know, I've also been on Vocal "for a while" and I didn't realize ANY communities had Collections. How lame is that?
Mr. Mike is a great teacher in my opinion when it comes to learning all about Vocal as well as what his stories bring out to me. There is always a lot to learn from all the communities here. Mr. Mike will overcome. Good job on this article.
Thank you for the shout, and Vocal are refusing to acknowledge me in any way. It will be interesting next week when I will have to raise a ticket to get a $30 Ambassador payment from them. Hopefully they will just pay up.
