Long Way from the Atlantic
Being 400 miles away from the shoreline is when I missed the waves and ceaseless salt winds. For many, this isn’t far but I was someone where this was the furthest west I had ever been. I hadn’t grown up by the beaches but I have never been more than hour’s drive from one. I never felt Connecticut as a coastal state, even knowing the history of port cities and different maritime trades. The feeling changed when I went to New York by Lake Ontario and the desire for mild Long Island Sound, warm Nantucket Sound, or the brutal Atlantic Ocean stayed heavy. The idea of a lake beach was so foreign, I still remember the shock of hearing that their beach trip wouldn’t be 5 hours away at shore but in 30 minutes from campus on the lake.

Thai UTI
I knew as soon as we stepped aboard the jumbo jet I was in trouble. I had to pee. Not the normal pee either, the urgent, painful kind that could only mean one thing: Urinary Tract Infection. Anyone who has experienced the agony of a UTI knows that you don’t wish it on your worst enemy.

Well, there’s that.
”Attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure.” Have you ever been SCUBA diving? What an entirely different world there is underwater. As some of you may know, I have some amazing friends in Hawaii who opened their home to me for two months in 2017. What an adventure it was! I couldn’t possibly recap the whole two months in one post, so you will be getting clips of it over time.

Space to Think My Own Thoughts
From August 10 to September 19, I hiked the Colorado Trail. I walked somewhere in the neighborhood of 440 miles in 41 days with a few days rest in the middle. I knew when I set out to hike that I would be writing about this journey afterwards, so I made notes along the way of the things I saw, the conversations I had, the way I felt.

Slow Traveling
It has been two years since I took a vacation. The reason why I was able to survive this pandemic life so far is because of the kind of vacation I had taken back then. I remember booking an Airbnb, flights etc without having any plan about ticking off places from my travel list. I was in between jobs and life felt a lot freer without any obligation to fulfil. It is a rarity in my life.

Solo In Sedona
In September 2021, I went on my first ever cross country solo trip. I flew from Baltimore to Phoenix, then, over the span of 10 days, drove from Arizona to California. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and it's about time I shared my adventures in detail.
